- Wedding: October 2012
I’ve been prepping my day-of emergency kit for the wedding with all of the essentials that I have found on multiple checklists online…and I noticed on every list that it says to bring chalk in the color of your wedding dress – I believe it is to help remove greasy stains, and to camouflage them if necessary.
No problem, I thought. My dress is ivory (not slightly off-white, but a true ivory), so I ordered ivory chalkboard chalk from amazon:
Whoa…it’s like orangey-yellow, and they were not kidding when they said it was golden ivory…needless to say, it does NOT match my dress even a little bit. I tried it on a small piece that was cut off of the hem of my dress, and it looks like I took orange makeup and smeared it all over my dress…not thinking it would go well as far as camouflaging any stains!
So my question is, do any of you know where to buy ivory or ‘not-completely-stark-white’ chalk that I could use for touch-ups on my dress if need-be?? Or do any of you have any suggestions on anything that could be used instead of chalk to help with stains on my dress, should they occur?
