I normally get silk ones direct from thailand via ebay. I bought some for my BM.

There are lots of different pashminas some with cashmere, most plain some with patterns.

@alysee:  I haven’t personally ordered from them, but I found Elegantly Yours. They have a wide range from the light, summer weight ones through the heavier duty cashmere varieties.  Their prices and shipping are higher than elsewhere, but they do look to be a much better quality that what I was seeing on ebay or similar sites.

Do you mean a shawl or a real pashmina? Real pashminas are serious money – I have one I bought in a government-run store in India (to ensure authenticity) and it’s unbelieveably soft and delicate. But finding the real deal in the US is really tricky, and you’re probably not going to pay less than $150-200 for it.

@MrsEME:  how warm was the one you got? I’m looking for shawls for a (potentially) cold fall day and its hard to judge that from the pictures.

Thanks!

@MountainView:  I would say it was pretty warm– unless you’re willing to go a lot thicker (and I don’t know that that make them a lot thicker without going full-blown sweater shawl).  Our wedding was in November– I didnt’ actually end up using (although I def had it with me!)– because I was SOOOOO hot in my dress/with everything going on, even when we went out and did pics outside in the rain.

I’d highly reccomend for a Fall wedding!!  even if you decided it wasn’t right, it was so affordable and I’ve used it tons of times since our wedding!
