I was wondering if there is place like a hospital, retirement or nursing home in Toronto where I could donate the wedding flowers? Most of our guests are coming from out of town so they won’t be able to take them home. I know funeral homes sometimes donate them, but I’m not sure where. I know hospitals I’ve worked at have had a scent free policy, but patients still seem to have flowers frequently.

@Lafayette: You can phone any nursing home and make arrangements prior to the wedding.
That way they can organize some volunteers, especially if the flowers won’t be in vases.
Also check with women’s shelters. Their budget never stretches to include flowers. The YWCA provides several types of housing.

My florist is willing to take our centerpieces herself and donate them. She plans to write it into the contract. You could check with yours and see if they have any ideas.

we donated to our church the next day and then people from the church could take how ever many stems they wanted.. we did this with flowers from a memorial as well.
