My fiance got my engagement ring at Ben Moses in the Diamond District. He came highly recommended and my e-ring is a great quality and color. We were going to go there for our wedding bands, but ending up scoring big at the Michael C. Fina sample sale a few weeks ago ;o)
Tiffany is SO overpriced. Do not feel bad that you can't go there. Plus, you can only get most of their rings in platinum. (mine is white gold)
I don't know if this is an option for you but you may want to try online like www.bluenile.com. They have quality stuff at great prices and they have amazing customer service. My fiance and I are planning on getting our wedding bands from there!!!
we got our bands from kent jewelry in diamond district. they didnt feel as tacky as the rest but were still a great price.
We met with someone from Zoland's in the diamond district who was recommended by a co-worker but didn't end up getting the ring from them bc FH's dad wanted to use their family jeweler in Miami...They were great tho, def would recommend them!
We got my e-ring, wedding band, fiancees wedding band, plus had 3 friends get their girls E-rings from my jeweler in the diamond district. We went to Malidani on 47th and 6th (I believe the address is 1200 ave of the americas). He's been wonderful - my diamond was appraised for WAY more than we paid, it is d color, very high clarity (VS I think) and he made the setting exactly what I wanted (identical to Tiffany Novo).
KellyV: my FI git my e-ring from there too! i love it. they didn't have the bands we liked tho so we got our wedding bands elsewhere
Got my fiance's white gold, millgrain band at adorable little shop in SoHo for $300. Check out the shop online: http://www.marisaperry.com/
we just got our bands today- at Milligree in the Diamond District. It's on the north side of the street- 47th btw 5th and 6th- closer to 6th. Both our bands were $850. His was a plain 5mm 14K gold band, and mine was like .33 carat 14K gold white band. Great deal. Ask for Dimitri and tell him Jeff sent you!
I don't know about for the womans band, but my husband and I got his ring off of Overstock.com for $27 INCL. SHIPPING!
It's Titantium and he does blue collar work and it's still like brand new! We went and he tried on rings at a local jewelry shop to get his size and band size (i.e. 7mm) and then we just orderd it online.....came in a week, too! Here is a pic of his ring below

Hi everyone,
My fiance and I are looking to buy affordable wedding bands in NYC. I've gotten many recommendations to "go to the Diamond District" but few specifics on exactly where to go. We love Tiffany and their pretty blue boxes, but are looking for more affordable options that are still high quality. I have a fairly elaborate engagement ring so I want a plain platinum band. He wants something simple, too.
Any ideas in Manhattan or nearby? Or good experiences with online wedding band stores? Please let me know. Our wedding is coming up next month so we need to take care of this soon. Many thanks and congrats to all your brides out there.
