If you want something even smaller, these aren't wood but are very small and inexpensive:
I remember a seeing a whole end of aisle display of mini frames at Michael's craft store. They had wood, jeweled, gold, and silver trims. They were $3 to $5 but some were down to $2 on sale. Of course, if you need several hundred, it might be hard to buy enough at the local stores.

I was thinking og using small pictures frames as my place cards - ideally they would be wooden so I can paint and decorate them and small enough to be use as tree ornaments.
Does anyone know where I can get such an item for cheap?
