CreditKarma.com

It really IS free unlike all the other “free reports” and it is great!

Name changes do not effect credit to my knowledge

@figgnewton:  Have you tried annualcreditreport.com? That is where I get mine! I pull a different one every four months or so to make sure that nothing is too off from what I think it should be.

@SweetartMD:  Credit Karma is nice, but a) it does not give you a complete report, and b) your score is not correct.

@arsing89:  Yes, annualcreditreport.com is the ONLY one to get a real/complete report from.

Depends on where you live, Transuion for the west coast, I forgot for the other two, one is mid country and other is east coast. I use to be a credit counselor a time back but I also like Credit Karma. I suggest signing up and seeing and then compare when you get your 1 annual credit report score.

@figgnewton:  Yep, you’d choose all three, and it takes you through them one at a time.

But if it can’t confirm your identity, their databases are probably updating after your name change.

@asianbarbie:  This is interesting to me. I thought that they were just different companies, not for specific regions

Well its important based on your region to make sure you don’t have outstanding balances with other companies ie. utilities etc. for instance a utility company will only report to Transunion for you living in the west and not necessarily the other two. This is why its important to get all 3, but again this is more to make sure you’re looking at the whole picture.

Many people will have a collection account from a company that won’t apprear on all but one credit report.
