where to get free kobo books?

Some libraries offer them.  I haven’t ever tested it out personally, to know how it works.

@FoolsintheRain:  I get them through our regional library system. You have to be  member but that’s free too.

@FoolsintheRain:  Have you looked into the Kobo book store itself? There are a good number of books that are free that are not all the really old books! You can also download books in a certain format (can’t this of it right now, friend uses those file sharing programs for it) and then download them into your kobo with a usb cord.

@FoolsintheRain:  My guess is that when you borrow ebooks from they library they’ll just cutt off your access at your due date or when you “return” (aka relinquish access) it.  Not sure how they do that though!
