The time has come for me to buy a new purse…for the last several years, I’ve carried Vera Bradley purses, which I LOVE, but lately I’ve been wanting to buy a good leather bag. I’ve looked at Dooney and Bourke, Fossil, Coach, etc. I like large purses with shoulder straps. I’ve seen lots that I like, but I’d like to get a better deal on one than what they are at my local department store. I don’t mind if the bag has been gently used, just in good shape.
Any ideas on where to look for one that is a good deal?

TJMaxx and Marshalls have great deals on purses and usually have a good selection of designer names. If there’s one near you, it may be worth checking out!

There is an ad that runs on the site that sells expensive purses at (they say up 90%) at a large discount. I would check Ideeli.com, hautelook.com, overstock.com, amazon.com, ruelala.com, and gilt.com. I got a nice Dooney at Marshalls or TJMaxx (they are right next to eachother in town and I can’t ever remember which one) for $75. I love nice big purses and I usually buy mine at Marshalls and TJMaxx. I really like to feel them, check the pockets, openings, and hardware before I buy.

@tksjewelry: I’m the same way! Love big purses, and I like to be able to examine all of the different features of the interior before I buy.
I also like longer straps, so being able to toss it on my shoulder in the store helps too!

@tksjewelry: Thanks! We do have both those stores near us. I have looked on ebay but I am leery of anything that I cannot handle before buying!

I’m not sure what designers they carry, but Yoogi’s Closet and Fashionphile are extremely reputable as far as buying preowned.

@tnbellebee: Do you have a Coach outlet? They have great deals! Plus they usually have a 20% coupon.

@Ballet513: I’m with you on the Coach outlet.

I have bought several purses off Ebay and had good experiences doing so. I only buy from top rated sellers and buy new with or new without tags. I also have friends who have had good luck at Coach outlets.

I have a 25% off code for Coach.com (not the outlet) that expires Nov 4th if you want it. I have no business buying another purse anytime soon.

I third eBay. Way more to choose from and so easy. But yes, stick with a top-rated seller. And I’ve had alot of fun winning bags the old-fashioned way. More exciting than the “buy it now” option.
I bought a burnt orange Cole-Haan bag two years ago and i get a lot of compliments. And it was a super deal (I’m an expert bidder:) I’m on the hunt for Navy or Royal Blue this season. Good luck in your search:)

Also take a look at etsy.com for vintage coach bags. I’ll get you the link of the place I know is reputable.

I have a Kate Spade leather purse that I looooooove. I got it when they had a big sale so it really wasn’t all that expensive considering the brand name. Coach is a favorite too.

Outlets are a great place to get good deals on designer purses. I know of lots of people who love Coach outlets and I got a purse and wallet for a steal this weekend at a Kade Spade outlet!
