DH and I are trying to decide where to go for our honeymoon.
We think Las Vegas would be cool and is a great price. The money we received in wedding gifts would cover all of the trip and then some. I think it would be fun, but not sure if it’s as worth it as going to Europe is
Other option is somewhere in Europe – either London (with a side trip to see Stonehenge), Paris, or Dublin (with side trips to different countryside spots). More pricey, in that our wedding money would cover the flights and accomodations but we’d have to pay out of pocket for food and extras. DH and I are big history nerds and love art, stage productions, museums, etc. as well. So all of the places listed interest us in different ways
Has anyone been to any of these places, and which one would you recommend for a honeymoon?

You can go to Vegas anytime, but Europe is more once-in-a-lifetime-honeymoon worthy!!

I second that!! You can go to Vegas anytime – and seriously, it is NOT very romantic. It also depends on how much time you can take off for the honeymoon – I wouldn’t go to Europe for less than a week because it’s such a long flight, and you want to make the airfare worth it! So if you can only take off 3-4 days then Vegas is OK, and after 3-4 days you could run out of things to do (unless you are hardcore gamblers).
What time of year are you planning on going? I would choose your European destination based on that… If you’re going in the summertime, I would say the BEST place to go in Europe to get some good art/museums – as well as relaxation – would be southern Europe (southern France, Italy, Barcelona, Greece…) – and if you plan to spend some time laying on the beach in those places you wouldn’t be spending too much money.
You could easily do a trip to both London and Dublin – they are only a short (and cheap) flight apart. I went to Ireland and London for 2 weeks last summer, so PM me if you decide to go that route and I can tell you heaps of places to go in Ireland!
It also depends on if you’re city people or country people… London and Paris are both very urban, so if you have a hard time relaxing in cities, you would probably want to pick one of those cities and spend the second half of the honeymoon in the countryside (rural Ireland, or southern France, maybe?). But if you like action-packed vacations to cities then you could hit both London and France – sounds like you would love all of the museums, art, and history in both of those places! They are fairly hot in the summertime, I think the best time of year to go is in spring or fall.
Good luck!! 🙂

Honestly– the novelty of Vegas will wear off pretty fast… it’s not really the most romantic of places. Vegas is better for a 3 day weekend kind of vacationm not a honeymoon.
I would definitely recommend somewhere in Europe. Dublin would be my first choice, but any of them would be fantastic I’m sure– and definitely more opportunities to create some romantic memories.

Las Vegas doesn’t exactly scream romance and honeymoon but Europe does. I say go for the big trip. Vegas can be done anytime really cheap for a weekend trip.

Another vote for Europe over Vegas.

Vegas is fun, but I vote Europe too!
