I would choose New Orleans out of those 3. I’ve been to DR and I didn’t like it compared to other islands and I’ve been to Cali a bunch of times. My 30th is in September and also our anniversary so we are going to Cabo. It was between Cabo band Thailand but the Thailand flights were too long.

Daizy914:  I’ve never been to New Orleans but all my friends have loved it. Everyone says the food is great and the bars are fun. It also has a good amount of its own culture so there’s plenty to see.

are you going in january?  i’m a bit of a beach baby, so i’d choose DR for sure!  we went to the grand bahia principe in punta cana in january of 2013 and it was great!  i’ve been to cali a bunch of times and the weather at that time of year just isn’t for me, but if you’re not looking for that, then i’d def recommend it!

The weather in Northern California won’t be great then…I’d choose NOLA, personally. But the DR and a trip to the beach in the middle of the winter sounds appealing to me too.

Daizy914:  That makes sense. And NOLA is great. FI’s brother lives there, so we get down there a fair amount, and it’s so much fun. The food is great, the people are great and the whole atmosphere is just so unique. It’s definitely unlike anywhere else in the US.

Tough choice!  I’ve never been to the Dominican, but I love New Orleans and I enjoy Cali, but out of those options, I’d for sure pick New Orleans!

Other options – Charleston, Austin, Savannah…So in love with those cities too!

New Orleans is a great place to celebrate.  If you’re there during the week, go to Commander’s Palace for lunch.  AMAZING food.
