I went to Italy (April).
My sister had a mini-moon in Philadelphia (November 2008.
My cousin went to Cancun (January).
My FSIL is planning to go to Aruba in late October
Las Vegas is fun we were thinking that but I grew up in Southern CA so I have been there 15-20 times already. My FSIL did Las Vegas for her honeymoon and loved it.
We went to Hawaii for our honeymoon a year ago, and we took our "second honeymoon" to Bali this past February. Both were great relaxed, beach locations for a honeymoon!
We were going to elope in the Bahamas but had to nix the plan. We plan to take our honeymoon there, they have a Breezes all-inclusive there with A TON of activities on the resort and it's like 5 minutes from Atlantis, horseback riding in the water and DUTY FREE shopping! Lol, I'm a big fan of activities!
We are going to Costa Rica, although we have not booked anything as of yet.
We went to St. Thomas last year and it was fantastic. They have a lot of all-inclusive places there as well.
DaisyBride: How you doing both Costa Rica and Belize? Asking because we wanted to do this as well but the transportation between CR and Belize seemed difficult and prohibitively expensive.
Jslong: We stayed at the Wyndham Sugar Bay. We didn't do all-inclusive but we were talking to some people who did and they said it was great. PM me if you want any more details about the hotel/St. Thomas in general.
hotchildinthecity: Our original plan was to just go to CR, then one of FH's parents friends told us that wanted to give us a week of their timeshare as a wedding gift. (um, WOW!!!) There were no decent looking places in CR that we could trade the timeshare for but we found one we liked in Belize and decided that since we were saving so much money by having a free place to stay, we would also go to CR for 4 days before Belize. The flight between CR and Belize is expensive (I think like $300ish each) and we have to stop in El Salvador for an hour or two. I think it's worth it though, CR will be our adventure and Belize will be more laid back and relaxing.
@jslong11: Neither of those were all-inclusive but Bali is so cheap that everything there is really affordable!
We coped out and are going to Puerto Rico. We both ended up having so many work trips for the next 8 months that we didn't want to have to yet again fly all over. So PR, close, warm and things to do. Sold.
We went to Vegas. In retrospect, we really should have gone somewhere a little less crazy... somewhere where the only decisions that had to be made were, do I want to go to the beach or the pool? Do I want a pina colada or a margarita? Chicken or fish for dinner? We just got a bit overwhelmed with everything. It was still a lot of fun, don't get me wrong... but I will be planning our first anniversary trip!!!
Puerto Rico IS very nice, especially the West Coast.
No clue where we'll go - IF we go. I might be getting an internship this semester and would be unable to take days off. I'd like to go to the Virgin Islands, but anywhere in the Caribbean would do.
Fi wants to go to Disneyworld. I've been there 30+ times in my life so I'd rather go elsewhere but Disneyworld is relatively cheap in comparison to so many other places.
Our dream would be to go to Japan. We're only going to have about $2000 for a honeymoon though.
