I am an NYC bride with most of my friends and family living in the Northeast (NY/PA/NJ/DC).
I was wondering if anyone has suggestions on decently priced bachelorette party destinations from NYC? Something for a weekend (Fri-Sun) in mid August for a group.
I was thinking of Montreal or Toronto for a weekend since we could drive/train/fly there. I am open to other small city or beachy destinations in VA, MD or DE, RI, etc. but I don’t know much about them and am not sure if they would be fun if we rent a house and have girl time, since I’m not familliar if we can alo go out and bar hop a little.
I’m not much of a gambler, love the beach and am a big foodie and a fan of good cocktails and live music, so I was thinking of a place that would have good food, live music, great drinks maybe and bar hopping between venues and possibly ending up at a fun venue to just dance at and have a good time. We are between 25-30, a mix of single and married and all pretty outgoing.
I would be grateful for any and all suggestions on places to go/avoid/stay at/etc. Thanks!

its probably a little overdone, but the last bach weekend I went to was in AC. We got bottle service at dusk in caesars and used a groupon deal to pay for all our rooms. It was pretty inexpenisve.
Sea Isle has a big bar scene with live bands that you can rotate
Seacrets in OCMD is pretty popular for bach parties

@kinsykarma: How about Fire Island? You can rent a house/big apartment in Ocean Beach and there are bars, restaurants, with a small town feel not too far from the city. It was super easy to get to and really felt like an escape. A destination that is similar but with a bit more to do is Block Island in RI.

Deleware beaches are really nice. I like Rehoboth best.
I have a place in OCMD. A PP recommended Seacrets, but really, don’t go there. There are plenty of other/better bars to go to in the area. All of them have bach parties.
A year ago my friends were joking to me about going to Seacrets. I said I haven’t been up to this point in my life, I think I’ll keep it at that.

Thank you all! I just found out that I’m going to be at a shore house during early summer (and our honeymoon is on an island) so Montreal it is! I’ve been and two of my bridesmaids have been so I’ve got a few resources but would welcome any suggestions on places to check out.

@kinsykarma: I saw that you like live music and if you go at the beginning of August there’s a music festival called Osheaga that I go to every year and it’s a blast. If you’re into that type of thing, you could go for a day. Old Montreal is always beautiful and there’s tons of restaurants/bars but since youve been I’m sure you know that. My favourite place to eat is a cafe called olive et gourmando, its only open for breakfast and lunch and there’s always a wait to get in but its delicious 🙂
