- Wedding: October 2014
My wedding is only 8 weeks away, and I am really torn on the ceremony location.
Originally, the plan was to have the ceremony at a lighthouse on a bluff overlooking the ocean. It is a 12 minute drive from my reception venue. We planned to provide transport there (no parking) and back to the reception, as well as transport home from the reception at the end of the night. We tried to book the transport this winter, and the companies told me we were super early and to check back later. So we called a few weeks ago, and it turns out a cruise ship is coming to town and booked almost all forms of transport. So now we only have 1 bus and a few vans, instead of 3 buses….which means we would have to make 2 trips. This means that some of our guests (probably the younger people) would be hanging out at the lighthouse for 45 minutes before the ceremony starts. We will have musicians and the view is gorgeous. But I am worried about it. I tell myself we are switching, and then I talk to my friends, who all say it is fine, and they are there to support me and will do whatever, and will hang out and have fun….but I don’t like inconveniencing my guests. We could switch it to the reception site (they have a lawn), but that just makes me feel disappointed.
Anyways, I have a feeling the bee will just tell me to switch the site. I’m probably being pretty selfish about this and should just switch it! But any input would be great. Thanks! Luckily we can still do transport home at the end of the night too.
For the record, my invites say lighthouse, but that isn’t that big of a deal.
