We were married 4.28.07 and honeymooned in Costa Rica. I think it was maybe the first or second week of their rainy season. We maybe had two afternoon storms - they are the kind that blow right thru though - didn't effect our honeymoon at all!
We loved Costa Rica!
(We're also planning a trip to Thailand this March/April. It's not their rainy season but I think it is the 'hot' season. But really - Thailand is always hot :) - (as is Costa Rica))
We're going to Spain. I think the weather there would be perfect in April...and I imagine crowds would be minimal.
Mexico is lovely in April :) thats where we went.
Probably anywhere in the caribbean would be delightful in April.
Definitely try St. Lucia in the Caribbean. April is at the end of the high season, so rate could be lower, and there will be fewer crowds depending upon the week in April.
For true luxury and beautiful surroundings stay at the Anse Chastanet Resort. It is a secluded, romantic hideaway nestled in the mountains. Amazing service, beautiful suites, and a fabulous beach await you.
Im an April bride too. We really wnna go to Greece but we'll do that in Sept and will have our minimoon in April. We're thinking Spain - Canary Island where it will be warm in April or somewhere in Carribean.
according to the Knot, Belize is the way to go...we wanted to go there, but decided to do a minimoon first then Australia later

April: Belize

Why: Going at the tail-end of their high season won't save you money, but it might spare you a few tourists. Plus, April falls right in the middle of the annual whale shark migration, making it one of the best times for an exciting dive. Don't let the name scare you, whale sharks may be the world's largest fish -- up to 40 feet long -- but these gentle guys eat plankton, not people.
Where to stay: Plan your Mayan honeymoon in a villa at The Placencia Hotel (from $205, ThePlacencia.com). The beachfront resort -- designed in an elegant European style -- is the perfect outpost for action (tour a jaguar reserve or kayak to a tiny island) and relaxation (spend an afternoon getting Swedish massages in the spa or swimming beneath a waterfall). Enjoy your cocktails with a view in the resort's thatched roof gazebo in the middle of the water. And dine on local Belizean Creole dishes at the hotel's ocean view Capriccio restaurant.
Honeymoon must: Leave civilization behind and sail over for an all-inclusive overnight stay on the privately owned island Ranguana Caye (from $381 per person, RobertsGrove.com). Located in one of the best snorkeling and diving locations (it's very close to Belize's Barrier Reef), you'll have plenty of opportunities to explore life under the sea together. With only three stilt-raised cabanas on the entire two-acre island to dwell in, you'll feel like an isolated castaway as you fish, kayak, dive or just lounge all day long in their beachside hammocks.
If the date's not doable: Try between November through March to skip the hurricanes and high humidity.
Springtime in Paris (especially April) is famously beautiful. A bit cliched, but definitely honeymoon worthy!
This place just opened last year and they are kind of a well kept secret. But we had the most romantic incredible time there that I a am trying to share it with as many as I can. It is an all inclusive and reasonable for what get. The site is; www.mytropicalhoneymoon.com
all the best!
