I went to House of Botticelli... wow is all I have to say. They are all older italian women with hearts of gold. It was amazing. They have an incredible selection and spend as much time as you need helping you. They are sweet and patient and more than willing to go out of their way to help you. UNLIKE Fontana which was a very dressed up and couture place to shop (champagne, snacks, and all the snobbery with it), but left there feeling pressured, dissapointed and PISSED. They were so rude and so much pressure. I mean i guess there are girls who really do buy the 1st dress they try on, but all brides shouldnt be treated like they have to. kk good luck girly

i have NEVER had a good experience at fontana either...I did visit meme's in eastchester and didnt find it to be very helpful. I finally went to amelia's in mount vernon and the woman, maria, who helped was amazing. i really, really liked it there. They also matched a price of a BM gown i found elsewhere in westchester, which was also accomodating. my girls havent gone in for fittings yet, so i cant comment on that- but as of now, i am happy with my pick.

I also heard good things about house of botticelli too! it would have been my next stop if i didnt love amelias!

    good luck!

I LOOOVE Botticelli's! I bought my gown there & went back for our bridesmaid dresses. They carry the higher end designers but but they're soooo amazing & worth it. Most of the time you can also buy the sample there, that's what I did. 2 friends of mine used to work there and still love the women in that store. Our BM dresses are Bill Levkoff and ironically they were cheaper than in Fontana's and since I got my dress there, we got an additional 10% off.

Fontana's is terrible. They never leave you alone & are very pushy, we went in to look and the woman kept asking, "ok, so should I write this order up now? Should I just write up her order and you can come back for the others?" NOOO! I bought 2 bridesmaid dresses from them in the past and their alterations are terrible. They also screwed up my friends MOB dress and she was stuck buying something off the rack at Lord & Taylor. Another girl I know went in there with her Aunt & her grandma - her mother passed away years ago. She called ahead to let them know and the woman kept saying to her Aunt "What do you think Mom?" They kept correcting her & she kept doing it!!

I wasn't thrilled with MeMe's in Larchmont either. I've had 1 bridesmaid dress from them too and they're pretty snippy. I asked the woman if I could look at the bridesmaid samples - she looked me up & down & said "whatever's there is what we have". She then ignored me. She was also very rude to my mother when she went looking for a MOB dress. My mom's plus size and the lady said "Oh No, no no we don't have anything here for you" Are you kidding me?!? There's a young girl who works there that was very nice to me but I wouldn't go back.

Amelias in Fleetwood is AMAZING! I love the girls in that store. They take the time to help you look & tell you about each designer. When I showed her a couple styles I liked she brought out less expensive versions. She also said she could order anything that wasn't in the store. They're the best prices around.

There's also The Bridal Shoppe in Mamaroneck. I didn't go there, but my FMIL went & said they have amazing prices. She said you kind of have to dig around & it's not the nicest place but they carry almost all the lines and have cheaper prices. They also have plus size dresses to try on as samples.
