Looking for some opinions as I’m kind of at a loss on what to do the night before the wedding.
I need somewhere to stay the night before and I will have to get ready at this place (with 5 other girls) the next morning (hair, makeup, etc). There will also be pictures taken there (my dress before I get in it, getting ready, etc).
I have 2 options. I prefer #2 visually and it’s nicer, it’s just a little farther away. So it’s a longer drive (it’s about a 10 min drive) from the first place. Is #2 too far away when you see such a close hotel nearby (#1)?
Which would you prefer (if you were the bride or bridal party)
Close to venue (0.9 miles, 3-4 min drive)
Room blocks are there (for other guests)
Basic hotel- mediocre restaurant/bar, continental breakfast
Cheaper (by about $40 a night or so for regular rooms)
A little farther away (6 miles from venue, 10 min drive)
Nicer hotel, with nice bar and restaurant
A little more expensive (+$40 for regular rooms)
Is the drive too long for #2 when there is another, closer hotel nearby?? Where would you want to stay for the wedding night if you were the bride?

My big thing was I wanted to stay in the same hotel (same room really) the night before the wedding and the wedding night. that way, we dont’ have to move luggage, etc. Way easier logistically.

I’d go with the first option, because I honestly don’t think you’ll be thinking about the bar & restaurant the night before your wedding. Also, I’ve never noticed the furniture in any of the ‘getting ready’ shots of the bride that I’ve seen. I’ve looked through dozens of portfolios, and I know the bride is seated for hair/makeup, and I can remember what a lot of the brides looked like, but I’m honestly spacing on the furniture.

@Glasgowbound: I definitely would stay at the same place both nights!
@MariContrary: That’s true, I never really pay much attention to the background of the getting ready shots. But we also have to do first look shots…and I think the hotel will be the only place to do that (as then we will all be going together to take bridal party photos).

I stayed in the cheapest, cleanest room available.
All I needed was a bed. I didn’t get there until Midnight and I needed to be up at 6am. If it had a bed, shower and towels, it was sufficient.
