I am planning a winter wedding in February 2010. I was trying to avoid the heat and humidity and decided a winter wedding would be much more comfortable. One thing I did not foresee is my wedding photos. We are planning to take studio photos as well as some indoor and outdoor photos with our bridal party.
Any suggestion as to where to go with a nice background that is both indoor and outdoors that wont give my bridesmaid frost bite or in the even that it might rain and/or snow? (Parks a bit too windy and extra chilly). My reception will be in Queens, so if there’s some suggestion near or in Queens that would be best.

Hm….I live in Manhattan so I dont know ANY Queens locations. But if you are arranging transpo, Id say Bow Bride in CP (its gorgeous if there is snow), the front of the Plaza Hotel, The courtyard and lobby/staircase of the Palace Hotel (the trees in the courtyard are incredible all lit up, and I think the lights stay through Feb so you should be good)

The promenade in Brooklyn Heights overlooks the entire downtown Manhattan skyline and even when it’s wintry and misty the view is incredible. Also, it’s right off the BQE so you can whip in and out of the cars quickly for the photos…

have you ever been to socrates park in astoria? (its right by costo) it looks a little run down at first, but they have art sculptures there and its a dog park also. there’s also a nice view of the city across the river. we took some pictures of our friends in that park and the pictures came out pretty awesome.

Gantry Park in LIC is nice. You need a permit to take pics. It’ll still be cold.
