I'm IN LOVE with destination weddings. I'm so excited for mine this summer in the Black Hills, SD. Where is/was yours? Let's see a link to your location or pics or both. Indulge me in my total love for gorgeous destination weddings.
My ceremony will be outside near a creek, followed by a swank reception at the State Game Lodge in Custer State Park. My family, my fiance, and I will be staying in the Reunion cabin all weekend and hosting after-parties after the rehearsal dinner and the reception. My fiance and I are getting a suite at The State Game Lodge for the wedding night. The whole theme is rustic meets elegance.
Here's a link to the lodge website:

Rehearsal dinner is going to be in this awesomely restored room they call The White House Room:

Ceremony and reception will be beautiful, can't wait! The Black Hills are sooo underrated.
Mine will be in lovely Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. It's a "DW" for us and about 2/3 of the guests. I have some family members that live in OK who aren't well enough to travel, so we are bringing the wedding to them. The ceremony will be in the state capitol, and the reception at a steak house downtown.
@nmsoonerbride: What a totally awesome idea. It's a gorgeous setting. I'm JEALOUS that you're having a steakhouse reception. At first I wanted to do a very small wedding with a reception just with my immediate family and a few close friends at a steakhouse. We're making sure to have prime rib on the menu... Congrats on what looks like it will be a beautiful event!!
Yeah, I always thought I'd be doing a Yellowstone wedding (similar to the one you are planning), but things don't always happen the way you think they will.
The important thing is the getting married, right?
yay destination weddings! :) Mine will be in the mountains of North Carolina. The ceremony will be at a Christmas Tree Farm with beautiful views, and the reception at a rustic lake pavilion. I can't wait!
We're making the deposit tomorrow! We live in Atlanta, but have family all over the US. So travel will be required to matter where we have it. I've always wanted a beach wedding since I was younger.... so we're headed to Anna Maria Island, Florida!

@eholland: I can't wait to see pics from your wedding! That's going to be GORGEOUS!!! :)
i am getting married in Jamaica! at the Sunset Beach Resort:

and my ceremony will look something like this:

We got married in December at the Coconut Palm Inn (www.coconutpalminn.com) in Tavernier, Florida Keys. A few pics:

@NotYourTypicalBride: LOVE IT!! Especially your colors and the paper lanterns. That's definitely the way to do a destination wedding!
@Lorge28: Thank you! It was a perfect day. :) I love your venue, too!
@Notyourtypicalbride Your wedding is absolutely gorgeous!!
We are having a semi destination wedding.. Its 2 1/2 hours from us and every person is traveling to the wedding.. Its in GA in the mountains, I originally wanted to get married in Savannah, GA but I fell in love with this place.

I'm getting married at Couples Swept Away in Negril, Jamaica!!!! Can't Wait :)
@keturahrussell: I got engaged at Swept Away... we loved it so much, we considered having the wedding there, but he was worried some of his family wouldn't make it. Enjoy - you're going to love it!
I'm getting married in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico! Our venue is the art institute, this beautiful old hacienda from the 1700s. I am unbeleivably excited!!
Some of my favorite San Miguel pics:

@NotYourTypicalBride- Thanks for that input!!! I can't wait!!! A lot of our family and friends won't be joining us, but nonetheless, I know we'll enjoy!
@eholland: Your lodge is going to be so neat! If I wasnt such a beach girl, a lodge would so cool! We live in Chicago, my family is in NY, his in FL so we picked a place that I used to call home and where we could be on the water! Right in the middle in Charleston,SC! The ceremony and reception are all in the same place, you get married on the lawn, have cocktails on the huge southern porch and then dance away the night inside! I fell in love the minute I walked up the stairs!
ooh! our mini-destination wedding is going to be in Asheville, NC :) We want our ceemony to be at Hidden River Events: http://hiddenriverevents.com/
and have a brunch reception at Tupelo Honey Cafe:http://www.tupelohoneycafe.com/
We're so happy! its all so deliciously...US. We definately couldn't get this kind of stuff in our home town.

Vegas, baby! We're having a night wedding in the garden by the pools at Caesar's. (That's not us in the picture.)

@kimberlysnyder08: Yay Charleston! It's also where I'm getting married too!
We're getting married in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, at the Royal.
@MadameLady: I toured Hidden River for ours, it was just a bit too far from where we were wanting it to be. GORGEOUS venue, though! Also, my sis lives in Asheville and is always going on and on about Tupelo Honey! What are the chances??
I'm definitely jealous of the Charleston & Vegas weddings! Those are two of my favorite places!! Charleston is such a gorgeous city and so much history is there!
Hi! This is my first post though reading the Bee is my guilty pleasure...
My destination weddng is going to be in Rome Italy this summer! FI proposed Jan 1st so we have 7 months preparation time.
Any Italy brides?
Galveston, Texas! We have a beach house rented http://bayfrontescape.com and we're going to walk outside and get married :-)
Riviera Maya, Mexico! It was totally amazing. We got married Al Ceilo on Xpu-Ha beach:

@MrsChacha: I am so jealous, I would have loved to be a Italy bride! Rome is one of my most favorite places in the world. I lived there for six months and it was where my fiance propsosed. Alas, our family and friends were not as big on the idea, so we compromised and picked San Miguel de Allende, in Mexico. It's much easier (and cheaper) for us to get to than Italy but has a very European feel to it.
My SO and I are hoping (budget allowing) to have two weddings, one at home, and a more intimate destination wedding to New Orleans with just our parents and BP. We're so excited for it!
@SerenaSF: Thanks! I actually live in France so Rome is cheaper for us!
Your pictures are amazing!
Our wedding will take place in Barbados. That's where my FI is from.
In a lovely hotel call the Tamarind Cove.

Sanibel Island, FL :)
We're getting married at the Royal Riviera in Saint Jean Cap Ferrat in the French Riviera. I love this venue and this location so much!
@MrsChacha I'm not an Italy bride, but close since I will be getting married in France lol

The goal is Kauai, Hawaii (no specific venue picked out yet).
Back-up will be the Juniper Beach Resort and Spa in Juniper, Florida (Palm Beach area).
Last choice will be St Louis (which is about 4 hours away from us) with the ceremony at the Provincial House Chapel and the reception at the Old Post Office.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Kauai though!
we are travelling to OluDeniz in Turkey to get married on the beach. its only a 4 hour flight from UK.
Ours was in Panama, where my husband(!) is from. Despite the difficulties planning, I wouldn't change it for the world! You can see pictures in my recaps post. In the meantime, here's the ceremony site, the reception site, and our cocktail hour (mojito bar) spot:
