We currently live in an apartment but will be moving into a house immediately following our wedding.

We’ll be living in the same apartment we’ve been in for three years.  We’re probably going to sign a lease for one or two more years (rent stabilization laws in NYC are funny) and then maybe start looking for a two bedroom.

Our one-bedroom is average by NYC standards (450 square feet) but I’m sure that seems really small to others!  And it would probably shock you to know how much we pay for it (and our rent is on the low end for our neighborhood!)  We’re comfortable in there now with the two of us and our two cats…the eventual search for a two bedroom will be due to family planning ;o)

And we pay for the rent/bills out of our regular salaries (we split it down the middle)

Same place we are living right now – an apartment.  We are planning to save money for a home soon.

We’re renting my grandmother’s duplex. She moved in with my parents last year after my grandfather passed away and the place was just sitting empty. Eventually my parents are planning on selling it, but with the market the way it is now, it seemed to make sense for us to stay there rather than let it just sit empty.

We live in half of a shotgun double in New Orleans.  I love it, except for the abandoned lot next door, which attracts prostitutes at night.  Seriously.

We don’t pay much rent for it, and we have two bedrooms and a backyard.  We do not plan on moving anytime soon.

We’re going to be moving into a slightly bigger apartment in NYC for probably another two years after the wedding and then HOPEFULLY a house in a location TBD after that. We both want to move to Providence but our families (in NY and CT) are not thrilled by the idea.

I guess wherever the Army takes us haha, which for the near future will probably be Fort Richardson in Alaska (this Florida girl might freeze to death Tongue out) unless he decides to switch to another post and the Army allows it. I am currently trying to tell him the benefits of Hawaii but he doesn’t believe me lol. Though we have plenty of time to figure it out since he is in Afghanistan right now.

Meanwhile, while he is Afghanistan I will continue to live in my Grandparent’s guest house, plus I will probably come back here during his next deployments, since this is where I am from and it is close to school AND I don’t want to stay on post by myself and he doesn’t want that either haha.

All the while though we will be working on building our own house here in Florida, so that way we will always have it to come back to, or if he decides to get out of the Army.

We bought the house first, so it would be one less stresser during the planning process.
