For my wedding I am doing a simple gerber daisy theme and for the centerpieces, I want to buy vases in the cobalt blue color (like SKYY vodka bottles!! but with bigger mouths and not vodka bottles, lol). My bridesmaid's will be wearing that color blue and I think it looks pretty with orange, white, and yellow daisys. The thing is, I've been trying to find some to buy in bulk online, but I can't find anything anywhere. They're always too small and look like things you put cold cream in, and not flowers. I would be open to larger jars and bottles too. I have found pretty blue vases but they're like 50 dollars a vase and not exactly what I am looking for.

I might just have to drink up some SKYY until my wedding and try to peel off the ugly sticker!

So, if you know of any place to buy cobalt blue vases, jars, or bottles online(that look decent and not too $$$) please comment!

Hi there! I have no good answers for you, but I'd like to do something similar. Hopefully someone will have a good idea. I was at a Dollar Store today and they had skinny vases that were colored blue at the bottom and faded up. Hmmm. Good luck.

These are the closest I could find but the mouths dont look that big but maybe they will work for you.   These are from Ikea for 2.99 each so they arent too expensive.    http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/60113179

    Good luck

Someone on here did a tutorial on how to make vases out of wine bottles. I know some girls in a wine group, and I asked them to save Cobalt blue bottles for me. I'm up to 10 bottles already, and I know someone that has the tools to make them into vases. There is some stuff you can buy specifically to get labels off of wine bottles. You can go to a local bar and ask them if you can have some of their bottles. They just throw them away anyway.

    Just a thought! -- LLauRRa

Saratoga Springs Glass Water Bottles are that color...that could be so pretty...shabby/chic.  Depending on your venue you could put these on the table for an extra splash of color.  My mom used to collect the bottles.

I would check thrift stores and ebay for actual vases.

Also, you could throw in some of those blue/white plates that all of our grandmother's had...almost french toile as part of the centerpieces that could be really lovely.

    I think you've inspired me :)

Wow, thanks for all the help! I just really like the color of that blue, and Davids Bridal came out with bridesmaid dresses in "horizon" that looks like cobalt blue in person. Plus, its just different from using clear vases. Thanks for the ideas so far!

Not sure what shape exactly you are looking for, but save-on-crafts.com has a few bottles and vases in cobalt blue.

I like jamaligarden.com... some of their stuff is expensive but they have a clearance section with pretty good deals! I am a fan of colored glass so I think the colbalt blue will look amazing... good luck!

Today in Walmart I saw "Stained Glass Color" by Krylon.  I've never used it before, but it looks like it's spraypaint that drys translucent, so you can use it to color glass.  If you don't have any luck finding blue vases, you could experiment with painting just normal clear vases.  Below is a link to the product:

Thrift stores!  Also try antique stores -- my sister went to one and found really neat pieces.  I am using cobalt blue vases/wine bottles;bowls/etc for my centerpieces and I went to thrift stores.  We've found 27 so far and it hasn't been too pricey!

These are just a couple- and as weird as it sounds there are some amazing cobalt blue vases on ebay!  Depending on you're theme and reception spot- it could look striking to do a variety of styles of vases and heights to add depth to your room

These don't have very wide mouths, but they might work if you used them without lids ... they come in a variety of sizes and are super cheap!

I know this thread is from a year ago, but I'd like to do the same thing.  If anyone has pictures of how their centerpieces turned out or vases/bottles that I could buy I'd really appreciate it.

    Thanks!

I don't feel like attaching a picture, but Ikea has 3 different options.  The best one is a set of 3 vases of different sizes...but they are wider than a single stem.  The other 2 are a bit smaller and are meant for candles.

    Hi-

I am selling these, 24 of them for $165. I did this exact thing for our wedding. We had horizon blue from Davids Bridal and sunflowers. I searched and searched at antique shops and flea markets for these bottles. They are all considered antiques, I paid much more for them then I am selling them. Send me a message if you are interested. Here is the link that I have posted on here with the ad.
