The title says it all.  Where did you buy your FI's ring?  And if you don't mind... did you have good customer service if you needed it?

We got his ring on Etsy!  If you are looking for titanium, I can recommend robandlean wholeheartedly!

Etsy as well! We haven't bought it yet, but he already has it picked out. I don't remember the vendor, but she's from Athens, GA--one of the two places we may be moving! So we were excited, hehe

I bought him a tungsten carbide ring from titaniumkay.com.  I even got it engraved.  And the total cost was just under $100.  Kind of cheap, but he didn't want anything fancier.  I wanted to buy him a ring with diamonds in it and he just wanted plain and simple.

Etsy- Titanium Knights, they were really nice to work with, no problems at all, but they were there to answer any questions and shipped quickly.

I had no idea so many people purchased on ETSY!  I am kind of nervous about that though... Not sure why.  I haven't bought anything off there yet.

I am probably looking at buying a white gold ring in 14K.  Don't want tungsten or titanium.

    anybody else?

we got it at a local jewelry store, we got mine there too. my family has been going there for years and we had just got my ering recut there, so we already knew that they're amazing, super nice, and trustworthy. we just got simple, plain white gold bands for both of us.

Mr. Mary Jane's ring was custom made, and we designed it with a local Jewelry maker. I highly recommend going this route if you and your FI are frustrated by the choices out there. It worked out really well for us.

He went to Jared!  LOL.  and although we haven't purchased our wedding bands, thats where we will go!  Jared is great!  I highly recommend it!  The sales rep was awesome and knew what she was talking about!  Not to mention their great prices and their warranties!  VERY happy with Jared!

The TitanFactory located in the Miracle Mile, Planet Hollywood Hotel, Vegas.  We walked in there while on vacation and found a ring he couldn't live without.  They have great rings if you want something different.  His has an emerald cut small diamond in it.

We got my fiance's ring at Jared's.  I had never really been a fan of Jared's - had some problems with rings from there in the past, but we went in to get a Pandora bracelet and he started looking because I was taking too long picking out beads.  We hadn't been agreeing on the look of his ring (although in the end, I knew he would really have the final say).  I liked details, he liked really plain.  Jared's had one of the biggest selections compared to other jewelry stores (and he looked at A LOT of places).  Jared's was the only place that really explained things to us.  We had originally looked at Tungsten and Titanium, but ended up going with white gold even though it is much more expensive because it can be fixed, resized, etc.  The people we worked with at Jared's explained the differences between all the different metals and options in detail and were confident with the answers (which was not the case elsewhere).  My fiance is not a fan of "being sold" and we never felt that way at Jared's.  I was very surprised, but we had a great experience there!

We're getting it at the same local jewelry store he had my e-ring made at... I really appreciate the customer service at mom & pop type stores - hopefully there are some in your area that you can go.  Do some window shopping so you can get an idea of what's out there and what kind of feedback you get from the store.

His top choice is a meteorite ring from Etsy.  We're also going to look at the store where he got mine - Shane Co.  They have GREAT service!

    Thanks again everyone.

We looked at the rings at ShaneCo (where my ring is from) but I wasn't impressed by any of the white gold rings there.. they were just OK. If you know what I mean.  I wanted to get it at ShaneCo for convience since mine is from there and they have the warranty, but I want him to love his ring more than it being convient!

I have found a few online that I like but I don't wanna buy without seeing it. I think I'll head to Jared and then try a few mom/pop stores that we have here. HOpefully I'll find something!

I have another ring related question.... do you know if comfort fit rings are better than normal?  My soon to be FI has really sweaty hands. As in they sweat ALL the time... he had a tendon surgery years ago and it's never been the same lol!

Helzberg has a ring called mfit and it says that it allows air to flow through... do you think that'd make a difference??

We went to the Clay Pot store in Brooklyn, but their online site has some pretty fantastic stuff.    http://www.clay-pot.com/

(ps -- for any NYers, trying getting it shipped to a relative or someone you trust out of state to avoid taxes!)

Our 'real' rings were both custom, from a local jeweler.  WE both have beater rings that we wear for sports and travel--surgical steel from Amazon.com, $8 each.  Apparently steel looks more like white gold than sterling does.  And on to your second question--i think comfort fit makes a huge difference.  It can make it easier to get on and off, which is great if your fingers change size a lot.  DH finds comfort fit WAY more comfortable than other types of rings.

We got his ring at Shane Company. We also got my replacement engagement ring there and will be getting my wedding band there. They have the best customer service I have ever encountered at a jewelry store and they let us take our time and answered our many questions. We had considered either Tungsten or Titanium for his ring because they are so affordable; however, after doing a lot of research and getting confirmation from the sales lady at the store, we decided on a gold band with a laser cut design around the center of it. He works with his hands and the problem with the Tungsten was that it would shatter and the problem with the Titanium was that if it got nicked or scratched, it would not be able to be buffed out to look nice.

I got FIs ring from Whitehall Jewelers when they were going out of business. It is white gold and diamond and I got it for a very good price. It appraised for WELL over the purchase price and I love it. I think it's manly and blingy at the same time.

He shops for jewelry from www.ice.com (that's where my e-ring came from), so we considered there, and superjewelers.com. Super Jewelers had better prices for the ring he wanted so we went with them. I'm crossing my fingers b/c they aren't a major retailer or anything. At least we didn't pay a lot!

    Good Luck

The band I've been eyeing is also from Etsy by AndrosCreations. I saw a video of him making a ring on YouTube and was convinced ...

until I checked out Miss absolutbee42's link to Clay Pot! Now I'm undecided (not surprising)! Tongue out
