They are both great traditional names. Personally I like Jack.
I personally like Henry, I think it has a romantic, classic sound to it.
I like Henry because it's less common (in the UK Jack is the most common baby name of at least the last 2 years)
I voted for Henry but I have to say it was really hard tI pick between the two!
Jack was on my list but FI doesn't like it because he feels it's too common and doesn't like the sayings, "You don't know Jack" and "Jack of all trades" hahaha. I still like it a lot better than Henry, though! Henry, to me, is an old man's name.
A very close uncle was Jack, and my grandfather was Henry -- so two fantastic names either way. For a younger kid though, I like Jack.
Jack is becoming more popular, so if avoiding a popular name is important to you, consider that. I'm more of a fan of Henry for that reason.
Actually, I like both of those names... a lot. But I voted for Henry. :)
i love both! these are my #1 and #2 names. Which goes better with your last name?
I like Jack and have a nephew named Jack. Henry is nice but my aunt has a miniature donkey named Henry so I can't look at it the same way.
I like Henry the best. We almost had a Jack, but we had a girl. Jack and Henry are both popluar in my area right now. There are mutliple Henry's that go to my daughters daycare. They are both great names though and it that doesn't bother you that they are popluar then I don't think you can go wrong with either!
What would the middle name be?
Actually, Henry is becoming an incredibly popular baby name (I know three). I, personally, don't like it and can't help but think of the old "Unlce Henry" from the Wizard of Oz whenever I hear it. Jack, however, I think is a great name that has really stood the test of time and will never sound dated imo.
I voted Jack. Henry reminds me of an old man.
So SO many babies called jack in UK and especially
scotland- see this link?
Love Jack!! This is most likely what our LO will be named soon :)
I can't choose a favorite because we will be naming our baby Jack if it is a boy, and my nephews name is Henry...I like them both!
If we went with it, Jack would be the full name - it wouldn't be a nickname or anything. "J" names sound better with our last name, but I have been worried about the increasing popularity of the name Jackson, worrying that there will be a lot of kids his age called "Jack", "Jax", or "Jackson". I have noticed that Henry is also gaining in popularity, but I don't think it's AS popular as Jack (at least in our area). I struggled with the idea of avoiding Jack because of popularity (I'm a teacher, and have had three kids with the same name in my classroom before)...But we just love the name so much that I still go back to it. It's also hard to determine what is incredibly popular in our area as opposed to what is popular nation-wide. I have been scanning the local hospital websites in our county looking at the babies that are born each month to see if I can spot any trends - kinda crazy, I know! As far as Henry sounding like an old man name, my husband LOVES old man names. His #1 name for the baby was CARL. I just couldn't imagine a little boy named Carl. It was not an option in my book. Henry is definitely in the old man name category, but I can actually imagine a little boy named Henry and I really like that there are less chances to make fun of the name . Glad to hear so many of you like the two names we're considering. We have struggled with choosing a name way more than I ever expected we would. I was (and still am) convinced that the baby won't officially have a name until we leave the hospital. Thanks again for all the input! Keep it coming because we're still confused and undecided!!! :)
I like Jack.
Jack sounds both traditional, but isn't so traditional that people can "age" it, so it has a more timeless appeal.
We almost named our baby "Henrik," which is Swedish. (My husband is from Sweden). We would have called him "Henry", but Henrik seemed like a stronger name that he could grow into. Just throwing it out there. We ended up choosing Liam at the last minute though because we liked how it went nicely with our other son's name more (Evan).

Henry... i like it because it reminds me of the boxcar children!
I know four boys named Jack and two dogs. :(
I double checked the local hospital websites and Jack (or Jackson) has been incredibly popular over the past 6 or 7 months. I only found one Henry on 7 months between the two closest hospitals to us. I'm thinking popularity wise it might be better to go with Henry. I did not have a super popular name in school. I was the only one in my grade level in my school district with the name Maggie. I would love to hear from someone who has a more popular name & grew up with other kids with the same name.. Was that a negative experience? or didn't it really bother you? I remember there being a lot of Sarah's and Jessica's in my graduating class for example.
That is so hard because both are extremely handsome, traditional names.
HOWEVER I picked Henry just because it seems underused(at least in my area)
But I really don't think you could go wrong with either name.
i'm biased. Henry has always been one of my favourite names :)
My FI hates it though ... :(

We have it narrowed down to two names for the baby boy we're expecting this spring. We are big fans of traditional names, so we've narrowed it down to Jack or Henry. Which do you like better?
