When we got engaged I decided to wear my promise ring FI gave me in high school as my wedding band, he was fine with it at first but changed his mind. He thinks I need a different wedding band or should upgrade to one later. He thinks he’ll look cheap if he doesn’t buy one and thinks I need a real wedding band. I want the band he puts on my finger on the wedding day to be my band for life so I’m against upgrading it. I could always wear my promise ring on my other hand if I had to. I’m just not sure what to do. I tried on a set with a band on each side and really liked it, but idk. Any advice?
Here’s the band I would get.
And here’s my band with my e ring (band needs to be resized)

I like the promise ring. My wedding band is also my promise rung. I get all mushy about it all the time. 🙂

@MrsN14: Hmm, I actually LOVE your promise ring with your e-ring. They look awesome together. What if you got something similar with diamonds in it? Then you can switch them as your mood strikes.
Or, you could ask for a plain gold band which you would wear alone when you feel less fancy?
Tough one. Beautiful set so far!

@MammaPants: aw that’s sweet. I do love the sentimental value of it!

@Fizzy8: thank you! I thought about getting one to switch out sometimes but I don’t really want to take my ring off ever. I’m still thinking about it though, thanks!

@MrsN14: I wish I could use my promise ring as a band! I really love it much more than the guard and I love the sentiment behind it. Promise ring gets my vote all the way!! 🙂

Im normally all for more bling and before I scrolled down I thought I would be voting for you to get another ring. HOWEVER I love how your promise ring looks with your e ring, so I vote to use that as your wedding band. Maybe try other single bands with the set and wear it as a stack? I don’t think that would work with the double band wrap however, id look for something else.

I love it with the promise ring too! I’d second though the suggestion to just get a very thin plain gold band and wear all 3, something understated that is feminine as your rings are but doesn’t take away from the beauty of your ering and promise ring!
