I was thinking today about which Bee I most identify with. I feel like I'm a cross between Mrs. Pineapple for her thriftiness, Mrs. Avocado for her dedication to her faith, and Ms. Cheese for her soul-searching and emotional engagement. At least, that's what I like to think. ![]()
Which Bees are you most like?
Oh gosh, I can't choose! So I heart....
Miss Avocado's eye for style and simplicity
Miss Cheese's honesty
Mrs Bee's dedication
Miss Meatball's social conscience
Miss Ballet Flat's candid and honest account of her weight loss goals
Miss Bruchetta's "real girl DIY" (something that is cute that I feel like I can actually do) and Philly roots :)
Miss Kitten's gosh-darned adorableness
And everyone. What's great about Weddingbee is that no matter who you are, you are bound to find someone who shares your experience, whether that someone is a Bee, or a regular on the boards!
This is a super cute thread! I think I am more like Ms. Dorsay ( Hey Friend!!) and Ms. Mascara
I think the one I would most want to hang out with is Mrs. Seabreeze. Her posts are hilarious and remind me of me and my FI. I am probably a cross between Mrs. Sea Breeze, Miss Dumpling and Miss Tiramisu. I agree with Mrs. Bee - this is a great post!
I HOPE I'm like...Mrs Tiramisu for her ability to take everything in stride and have a blast on her wedding day :)
Mrs Onion for her gosh darn cuteness
Mrs Tulip for her kind hearted nature
Mrs Penguin and Mrs Ladybug for their sense of humor
Miss Snapdragon for her love for her family
and Miss Cheese for her honesty
I would like to think I am as witty and funny as Mrs. SeaBreeze - I love reading her posts and because of her, we will be honeymooning at the Majestic Colonial in Punta Cana!
I find that everytime I read something by Miss Bruschetta I can totally relate. But then again, having just graduated from law school, I find a lot in common with Miss Kitten!
oh - man, i think this may be the first time im posting, but im a super old school reader so I had to do a little shout for old school Bees... I started reading weddingbee because of Mrs. Bee- identified with her since I'm also a NY transplant from LA. I personally identified the most with Mrs. Ant and Mrs. Ladybug - and later on, Mrs. Lovebug. (i hearted her from before her sabbatical from weddingbee!) they were so refreshing and candid, so down-to-earth and lovely and great writers to boot. Not that the other bees are not, but I used to wait for their posts with bated breath...(embarrassing much??
Also, Mrs. Ant's wedding is my favorite wedding ever ~~ from location to style of dress to the atmosphere to pictures.. and on and on and on... (le sigh). even the s/o loves it!
ok. enough professing love for internet strangers.... carry on!
Way to de-lurk, pink221! I'm going to have to go back and check out some of those old-school bees. I've only been reading since September and just read Mrs. Pineapple's older posts yesterday.
Haha, when I discovered Weddingbee a year ago, I read SOOOO many of the bees' archives...and thus started my addiction!
This is a really interesting post. I need to think about this. Ill get back to you :)
CUTE CUTE. I like them all, but I find myself reading Penguin, Avocado and Cupcake the most. But I LOVE YOU ALL!
Ooh, I so want to be Mrs. Lovebug. She's eloquent and emotional, but not too schmoopy (just enough), and HAPPY.
I think Mrs. Candy Corn, Miss Spring Roll, Mrs. Cupcake, Miss Quiche as we are both designers... could go on and on! :)
I'm definitely the most like Mrs. Cherry Pie- we have tons in common, and our venues have similar themes. But I'm a lot like Miss Cheese when it comes to my love for San Francisco!!
This is a cute thread! I think it says a lot about why weddingbee is so popular, there is a bee for every bride :)
I think I am most like Mrs. Cupcake because she is also a graphic designer and Mrs. Candy Corn because she is a little wacky, plus both live in PA.
Oooh, this is very interesting! The reason I got hooked was Mrs. Shortcake! I'm not sure how much I'm like her, but something about her posts certainly resonated with me!
Ok, I love them all in their own ways, but I have borrowedd/stolen/been inspired by the most ideas from Mrs. Espresso, Mrs. Coconut, and Mrs. Cherry Pie. I am having a rustic outdoor wedding, so it is obvious why I like Espresso and Cherry Pie, and I have a similar style a color palatte to Coconut.
I definitely think that what draws people to this site are the bloggers and especially the ones who a) remind you of yourself and/or b) have ideas you love. This also connects to the diversity thread...
Ah yes, great discussion! I hope I'm in league with Mrs. Radish, Mrs. Onion and Mrs. Lovebug. Even though they were all different, there is something about them personally and their wedding style that I identify with and therefore loved following them the most! :)
I loved everything about Mrs Milkshake's wedding! We have a very similar aesthetic and I realized she tried on a LOT of the same dresses I did. In the end I don't think my wedding will be that much like hers, but I was still really inspired by it.
Oooh... this is a hard one. I really love reading Miss D'Orsay's posts because she has the DIY things I have loved trying thus far (the making vases out of wine glasses and the making wine cork placecard holders) and I have similar taste to colors and BM dresses as Miss Mascara. I also appreciate Miss Kitten's point of view, because I am also a law student and have a dad that wants to be quite involved in the planning process. And finally, Miss Cheese... you always have posts that just ring true... you are able to talk about so many things that might otherwise be avoided (i.e. Twister & Brazil) and I love that about you.
I love reading posts from all the bees though. It definitely is a fun way to explore wedding stuff and start thinking about what I want to have included in our wedding.
I love Mrs. Cream Puff. She's sooo cute and her DIY is AMAZING. Mrs. Candy Corn and Mrs. Sea Breeze are favs. too. :o)
Hmmm.....I think I'm a combination of Mrs. Cherry Pie, Miss Cheese, and Miss Spring Role. But I love to read all the blogs and I get sooo many ideas from all of the bees.
I'm not cool enough to compare myself to any of these ladies, but Mrs. Radish was one of the first bees to hook me in. I LOVE Mrs. Lovebug and Mrs. Cherry Pie's recaps have been fantastic! I'm also completely adoring Mrs. Sea Breeze too. Oh and Penguin? You crack me up. I love it.
And I'm going to cut myself off there before I just list everybee. It would be way too easy to do.
Mrs. Lovebug was the first Bee I knew, loved every detail of her wedding :)
I think the reason i got hooked onto weddingbee was mrs. creampuff! i also adore miss dumpling's humor.
This is way too difficult! I loved Mrs. Tiramisou, Mrs. Toucan, Miss Snapdragon, Mrs. Champagne, Miss D'Orsay. The list goes on and on.
There's really something for everyone!
Mrs. Cream Puff and Mrs. Lovebug got me hooked in WB. I feel I can relate with Mrs. Cherry Pie and if she ever does Bee TV again, you must watch! I've been following Ms. Mascara's personal blog and I feel our weddings will be somewhat similiar (size, type of location, etc). I like Ms. Meatball too as I think our weddings are pretty close, so I like to gauge what I have done compared with her. I believe she was the first May 09 bee, but I've been closely watching the other May 09 bees too!
Miss Coconut- I followed her regular bride and love her DIY's and how she helped her sister- plus she did all this planning while in law school, and passed the bar- so she's like my ultimate inspiration
this is such a fun post! i think i'm a blend between cupcake's sense of humor, taffy's personality, pineapple's sassy specs-wearin' self and shortcake's love for all things retro. or at least in my wildest dreams i would be!
I got hooked on Weddingbee from the start, and love all the bees that came before me! But was glued to the plans and writing of several bees: Shortcake, Lovebug, Cupcake and Candy Corn (yeah Philly girls!), Toucan and Tiramisu. Seriously, though, every bee inspires me in her own way.
Mrs. Lovebug was the first bee I read, and I was drawn to her wit, her words, and the fact that they made their wedding their own. Cream Puff, Gingerbread, Cherry Pie, and Cheese have also really resonated with me and I see bits of myself in each of them, and now I'm off to go check out some of the other bee's favorites! :)
Really, all of the bees offer excellent insights and inspiration!
I first got hooked through Lemon's posts when my cousin sent me her link after I got engaged. That led to the discovery of Eggplant and Cupcake's DIY and it was all downhill from there. Now I think I just love everyone's posts.
Aw, this is so nice!
I think I most want to be Mrs. Lovebug :) But I relate to Candy Corn, Cheese, Seabreeze, Cream Puff and Shortcake in many many wonderful ways.
Hmm if I could be any bee but me, who would I bee:)? Lemon was my first bee-crush. Then like everyone else I crushed on Lovebug for awhile. Now I divide my love among all the bees, but I'll always be partial to Cupcake and Sea Breeze :)
