So, I’ve just discovered the frou-frou, fabulous world that is BHLDN…and I’ve been looking at hair accessory and veil options for the reception. First, I fell in love with this super cute bow birdcage veil with tiny seed pearl embellishment. It’s also on sale, which is a bonus.
But then I saw the dreamy double blusher/bubble veil with a cluster of little enamel flowers at the crown…the shape is just so whimsical.
And lastly, the enamel and Swarovski crystal flower circlet is really pretty too. I am wondering whether it can only be used with one type of hairstyle though – a high bun, as done on the model. Also, would it clash with my dresses given both of them have Swarovski crystal details (clear) rather than any of the colours in the circlet?
These are the prices, the first veil seems like a real bargain but I certainly don’t want to buy it just of that.
Also, if anyone has bought these or similar products from either of these designers (Debra Moreland and Kristi Bonnici) I would love to hear reviews!
#1 – $50 (from $295)
#2 – $280 (full price)
#3 – $200 (from $600)
My ceremony dress is the Vera Wang Georgina, and my reception dress (at this stage) is an ivory tulle Reem Acra ballgown. Depending on how I feel about the Georgina when it arrives, I have a feeling I may not even change into my reception dress. So I’d like the veil/hair accessory to go with both, if possible. Excuse how weird the Reem fits me right now, there was a sizing debacle with the seller and I’m in the process of trying to lose weight/get it altered.

I love the world of BHLDN as well, it’s addictive! 🙂
My vote goes to #3, it’s gorgeous and I think it will go well with your dresses. Now, from the photos on the webpage, it does seem like you would have to wear it around a bun… but keep in mind that you can always bring it to your hairdresser and discuss different options. I once got a hairpiece that I loved, except from the shape – my hair stylist at the time modified it with pliers and it became perfect. So, you might be able to make a small cut in the circle and bend it into another, more suitable, shape.

I agree with the vote for #3!

#3 is the only one that goes with the Georgina, IMO. Debra Moreland stuff is great quality but I would probably keep looking a bit. I bought several accessories before my dress came in and everything changed once I tried them on at my fittings.

I LOVE the double blusher!

I love the double blusher. I’m having a hard time figuring out how #3 would look outside of a high bun.
FWIW, I am OBSESSED with Georgina and don’t see any reason to change out of it!!! It will be stunning on your body type!

I fell in love with number 3 as well..but also wondered about wearing it not on a bun and so opted out of it. I do think that the first blusher isn`t quite right with either of your dresses. And I love the second one, but would consider shopping around a bit more still- not completely convinced!

I say aim to get #3 but try and wait for it to go on sale.
EDIT: WAIT it’s already on sale! If it’s on sale they only have 1-2 in stock. You should buy it and see it in person. Return shipping is free

They’re all pretty but I have seen much on BHLDN that I haven’t also seen on Etsy for cheaper.

@lovelyduckie: Yeah, full price for that little thing was $600! I live outside of the U.S. so I think returns would be a bit of a hassle, unfortunately.

I do love the circlet, it’s so dreamy and romantic, but I am having a really hard time envisioning it on any hairstyle other than a high bun!

@BooRadley: You’re right…I’m accumulating accessories (and dresses) like nobody’s business, I should really just wait until I’m closer to the date when I can put everything together.
What accessories did you end up deciding on for your Hayley?

@FoolsintheRain: I’ve snapped out of wanting the first bow blusher, I think I was just hesitant because it seems like such a good deal.
@Mars62312: Thank you! I’ve ordered it sight unseen so fingers and toes crossed it will work out. Soooo nerve-wracking!
@eocenia: Good to know that you tweaked your hair jewels..the circumference of the circlet seems quite small (4.5 inches) so I think that would limit what I could do with it. I am likely to go with an updo for at least part of the night, but it wouldn’t be a super high bun like the model has.
