I liked #1 and #3. The photos seemed more polished. And wow, are those serious budoir shots.
@pamplemousse: Haha I know, right?! There was one guy that I looked at who I scratched out (partly because he's a he, and I want a woman) because his photos were just a little TOO suggestive, although I'm sure that the women were okay with it and probably asked for those poses.
@hilsy85: oh yeah, totally agree with you that i couldn't never have a guy take shots like those. i don't think i'm brave enough for boudoir pics. i really did like the first one--she seemed to be able to get really good angles of each of the girls!
I like #3 the most, I think there was a lot of sexy shots, but also a lot of "personality" shots too. Those shower shots of #4 are.... woah.... LOL! But I love the silhouette ones in front of the window (not that I would have the nerve to get nekked and stand in a window.... )!
I like #3. The pictures are beautiful, make the women look great, and are still what I think guys would find sexy.
@bakerella: ahah wait a minute...I must have missed these naughty shower shots. I'll have to go back and look! :) I'm always nervous about getting crazy in the shower--too many opportunities to slip (aka, I"m a big klutz).
@MademoiselleL: Thanks for the input!
I like #1 & #4! I'm actually eying them for my own boudoir shoot now. Just need to work off the weight I gained on our honeymoon. :)
@hilsy85: The shower shots are of a COUPLE! They're pretty steamy (pardon the pun). I can't imagine getting that ummm.... frisky..... in front of a photographer and not asking them to leave, LOL! Or DH not needing some kind of a breather ;) Awwwwkwwward! LOL! Super hot shots though. I wish DH and I were that sexy!
Def #1, bet use of lighting, images have more "pop." They offer more of a glamour look, maxim magazine, etc
#2 would be my second choice.
#3 I don't like the tight crops and cut off body parts, and the flat lighting.
I don't like number 4 at all
The #1 shots are def my favorite, the women look gorgeous and considering these shots are for your DH you definitely want to look hot! :)
i voted for #1 but really like #3 as well..
i used Laura Bruen www.catwalkboudoir.com... she has a fantastic farm house in middletown, nj set up wonderfully for photography sessions! she was a lot of fun to work with, I felt totally comfortable. She does amazing maternity shots that I want to do someday too... It was a lot of fun. She was not cheap but she truly is an artist. PM me if you want more info. I don't have digital copies but can alway send you a few pics of my book.
I think I like #1 and #4 the best.
3 or 4. These still have that classy, fun aspect along with the sexy. Holy moly all these boudoirs are ....ahem....steamy.
I like #3. The photos look the most professional. #1 Looks almost too photoshopped, those girls all sort of look plastic, not even a line or birthmark to be found!
I really like number 1! Number 2 is good too but some of the poses look a little awkward. I agree with some of the other posters that number 4 just isn't as polished as the others. Whichever you chose you'll definitely have some HOT pics. Good choices!
#1 and #3 are just about neck and neck--and those are actually my two faves as well! I need to go ahead and do a side by side comparison with prices, but I don't think there will be tooo much of a difference between them. They're both actually out of town photographers who happen to be coming to NYC, which works out nicely for me :) Now I just need to choose! Any other opinions? :)
@ILikePink: That's actually interesting that you say that--I noticed that as well, that she even removes freckles and things (if you look at her before and after). I'm sure I could ask for a little less photo-shopping, since DH actually happens to loove my freckles/beauty marks, lol.
I LOVE Raw Photo Design. They are my dream photographers. I have met them a few times doing weddings, (I do catering). They are great people and I LOVE their work. I would have them follow me around for my whole life and capture it in their magnificent way if I could afford it.
Personally I would choose them. I like how they have the ability to take sharp photos with great light and amazing angles or soft romantic photos. I love how when they shoot they would lay on the ground in a puddle just to get the right shot. I just love them. Plus they are fun and I definitely don’t think it would be awkward shooting with them even for boudoir photos.
Okie doke, one more bump and request for more opinons, especially between 1 and 3! :)
I think you have enough data points to help make a decision. It looks like no matter how many people respond, 1 and 3 will be split. I personally like #2 better than number 3.
In the end, these are your images, you are paying for and you need to like them. Perhaps contact both. See who is available on your date, what the cost is, what they deliver, and what they include. Then see how they appear in person or on the phone, and see who you get the warm fuzzies with. That may help you narrow it down and take the next step.
I didn't look at the links but I really think it's important to feel comfortable with the photographer for these shoots... also -if one offers more of a package (ie: editing, more photos per session, longer session, etc.) that may sway you. If it's possible to meet with either of them to get a sense of their personality - that would be ideal.

Hey ladies! I would like to get DH a boudoir album for our one year anniversary. I peeked around the internet and found the following photographers (not all are located in NYC, but all seem willing to travel/will be here anyway for a marathon shoot, etc). I know it's kind of weird to ask you to evaluate all these pics of mostly naked women, but I guess imagine you were a guy? Which would you find most appealing (while still not being SO raunchy that you would be uncomfortable being photographed that way). I also want to look natural, but like...well, a sexy bombshell, lol. DH doesn't like super super artsy pics (like ones of shoes-he just doesn't get it, what can I say, lol).
1. (I created a thread asking about her already, but figured here I can compare to other people as well)

Thanks for all opinions! Also, if anyone else has more suggestions for NYC boudoir photographers, they would be welcome :)
