I was at David's Bridal yesterday so I could pick the dresses for my BMs to wear.  At first i didn't care if the dresses were all the same style, as long as they were the same length and color. But now I'm not so sure.

I have one BM who is a stick, one is hourglass (not overweight at all), and one is a normal body type.

I wanted each of them to choose one that best suited their body.  But again, I'm not sure I want to give that option.  I hate making decisions.

Anyway, which dress do YOU like?  Mind you, my dress is strapless but it really doesn't bother me if theirs is or not.

    Thanks Bees!

I'm doing DB for my bridesmaids as well so I've seen all of these.

I did not like the first one (no offense to anyone who may have chosen it)  I just felt it was too long and looked kind of prom-like with the little belt.

I LOVE the second one.  Two of my bridesmaids have already chosen one very similar to it (the off-the-shoulder one)  I also feel this one is most universally flattering.

The third one would be my second choice after the second one.

I'm not a huge fan of the fourth one.  I'm giving it as an option to my bridesmaids, but if you are large-chested at ALL, it is NOT flattering.  Both one of my BMs and I are size 8, 34DD and we looked like dorks in this dress.

i looove #3 b/c i love the crumbcatcher look, however i just recently discovered not all my BM's do! i think those 4 you posted would look great if they were mixed and matched, b/c they're all the same color AND length!  if you're ok w/it, why not offer that they choose just from those 4 rather than ANYTHING in the store?

I really like #2 but letting everyone choose would be a great option too.

I'm letting my girls choose just because they have such different body types. As long as you have a selection of dresses you like, I don't see the harm in letting them choose from the ones you've picked.

Just an add-on, that first one is not the same length as the rest.  I've seen it in person and I believe it's more of a tea-length.

hmmm to be honest I don't like any of them.  (no offense to anyone, just my opinion).  But if I had to chose one I would chose #2.  (BTW, I have a normal, hour glass, size 6 body but I think that cut would look flattering on most body types.)

@hotchildinthecity - I think it is too. And now that you've mentioned the prom dress thing...the more I look at it the more I'm not thrilled with it.

@StephinPA: I liked it at first too (when I was first shopping).  Then my 16 y/o cousin tried it on and was like, "ooooh, it looks like a prom dress." I was like, "yeah it sorta does.  Next!"

not feeling any one of them in particular, but as we've seen from the dress on you vs. the model thread, letting your girls pick the most flattering would really look best, IMO.

My sister just tried on all of these except #1 last weekend (she's size 6, 5'8, average proportions for reference). ^_^

I thought #2 was ok, but we were talking about it and the off-the-shoulders neckline can make it difficult to live it up/dance at the reception. And with 5 girls with very different bust sizes, we were afraid that it would look matronly on some. There's another v-neck dress from DB that's almost the same, but is just a v-neck (in front and back) with a sash that I personally thought was more flattering because the straps are thinner.

#4--like hotchildinthecity, my big busted friends were not fans,

#3--I really liked this and thought it was really cute, but my sister hated it. I think it's a polarizing dress--love it or hate it.

Have you had anyone try on the round neck (it has a knot detail at the neck, so they actually call it an asymmetrical neck), a-line with pockets? It's usually shown in ads in a pattern but it comes in solid colors too. I really liked that one. It might be a nice option to throw in the mix.

A friend of mine used #2 for her wedding.  I didn't think they looked too bad, but every one of the bridesmaids hated it.

I had my maids try on almost all of the DB bridesmaid dresses and we decided to go with a different store since we didn't like any of them in person.

My bridesmaids are all wearing #2 because it is the most universally flattering on everyone. Plus, it's on the cheap right now because it is being discontinued in December!

I tried a few of these on for a wedding I'm in next May, so I can give you my personal experience.  I ended up getting #2, but it's really difficult to put my arms up.  Dancing should be interesting.  Also, it's not the best for bustier girls.  I'm a size 6 with a 34C, and it shows A LOT of cleavage.  Something to keep in mind for a church wedding...

I didn't like the 3rd one in pictures, but when I tried it on in the store, it was really flattering.  Unfortunately no one else chose this dress, so I ended up with the other one.

I say you let them choose their own

I really like #2 but I would let them choose their own!

They are buying the dress and if you let them choose than they are more likely to wear it again!

I'm a huge fan of bridesmaids with different dresses! I vote you show them all the dresses and let them pick which one they love the most!

Dress #2 is my favorite, but I would let them choose (as long as they all choose a different one). I think it might be a little weird if 2 of them choose one dress and the other one picks a different one, unless she was the maid of honor.

I prefer #4. You can't tell anything by pictures since everyone has to try them on to see what looks best on them.

I would let them choose, but I like #2 the best. I saw the first one in person when we were looking and did not like it at all. I also didn't think it wasn't terribly flattering on different body types.

i voted for the 1st one, but also like the 4th...i actually wore the first one for my friend's wedding, and it was comfortable and i liked it...the 4th one is very nice...kinda reminds me of audrey hepburn-ish..and you could either have them wear pendants or sash for accent...

I like the idea of having BM pick their dresses! Then they won't look like clones.
