- Wedding: November 2012
I’m kind of stressed out even though my wedding isn’t until November 2012. It’s all variety and volume of choice we are *luckily* able to have while planning a wedding. But for now, I’ll stick with just one. Or at least try to.
I have my choice of dresses down to two options and I am going to decide this Saturday when my mom can bring my (87 year old!) grandmother to see the dresses and be a part of the process. My sister is the only other granddaughter of hers to have gotten married and she planned her wedding out of state, so this will be special for my Gram!
Now, I am a (music) teacher who is also in graduate school and I coach softball year-round so my “free” time is pretty much limited to about 30 minutes a day…..and it’s not always 30 consecutive minutes! Oh, not to mention that it’s Spring Concert season…..rehearsals, rehearsals, rehearsals!!!!!!!!
Anyways, my mother emailed me last night asking if I had my shoes for Saturday when I choose my dress. I panicked and thought, “Um, huh?”
My first thought was, “When do I have time to shoe shop?” and my second thought was , “How can I possibly have my shoes given that the two dresses I have narrowed it down to are night and day in terms of style?” With one dress (that I’m probably not getting) I could do a fun pop of color-type shoe, but then that brings up a whole OTHER problem of deciding on bridesmaid’s dresses. I know, I said I’d stick with only one problem in this post!
The other dress is lace and very vintage-inspired and a pop of color shoe just would not do.
I’m confused. Should I just pick a stand-in shoe with the size heel I think I’ll want to wear and then PRAY to God that I find the perfect, comfortable shoe with that same size heel as the stand-in shoe? I have never heard of buying the shoe THEN the dress.
Any advice/help would be appreciated. Here are the two dresses I’m considering. The lace dress (Casablanca 1975) is the one I have been leaning towards since I left the bridal boutique last Monday…..and with that said, I should probably ask what kind of shoe to wear with that dress (probably should save that question for another post!).
