We are having cupcakes and FI suggested we should have some candy sticks too.  We cannot do a full candy bar, so we think just having one extra sweet will be fun.  Which stick do you like best? (our colors are the berry/purple color)

We had both on our candy buffet. At the end of the night though, the rock candy sticks were gone and about 90% of the old fashioned candy sticks were still there.

I loved how they were displayed in the attached picture so we did something similar---filled an oversized martini glass with sugar and stuck them in, stick side down.PLEASE VOTE: Which Candy Sticks? : wedding candy purple favors Candybuffet

@lampshade127: What's in the middle of the big (M&M?) vase on the right?  Do I spy cotton candy pops?

@lampshade127: Thanks for that tip! Love the picture. Looks like you have the rock candy sticks in the M&M's too. Very cute.

I say get a few different colors of the old fashioned candy sticks.. I say this because you said you said you cannot do a full candy bar. I am assuming because of cost! The old fashion candy sticks are way cheaper!!!!

I'm definitely going for rock candy sticks. They look more tempting and they're less messy, since they have stick to hold on to. I also think the nice red violet shade will match well with your purple/berry color scheme.

@karstevens992: Yes, we prefer the berry shade as opposed to the darker "grape" shade.

Our venue will charge us extra for a candy bar - so since we already got approval to bring in our cupcakes, we were going to say the stix came with the cupcake. So that is why we were thinking we could get away with having just one of the sticks.

Striped candy sticks are awesome, but the rock candy looks so fun (and is so tasty!)!

I am having a hard time imagining adults walking around sucking on candy sticks all dressed up. They take a long time to finish and are sticky.  Its an awkward candy to have I think. Something that is "poppable" ior more quickly consumed I think would go over betterm, like flavored honey sticks, or small hard candies

@lefeymw: Yeah, it is more for the fun look, rather than practicality of eating.  I have also seen these rock candy sticks used as a stirrer in coffee or tea. (which we will have for our guests, and I am guessing those who want a hot beverage will have it with their dessert).

@808mjm202: that's exactly what we're planning on them using rock candy for!

We are using them as escort cards, and figure those who don't want to eat them will sweeten their tea or lemonade with them
