6:30, but depending on the location of the wedding I might still have to take a half day (or full day) off. So that might affect my decision to attend depending on how close I was to the couple and how the rest of my vacation schedule was panning out.

I think 7 would be easier if your guests are local. It’d still be tight for those who get out of work at 6, but for those who can leave at 5 they might be able to change prior to coming to the wedding.

Definitely the later one.  Some people don’t get off work until five, so it would be hard for them to make the 5:30 ceremony time.

@KatNYC2011:  agreed. 7 or 7:30 would be even better. Then I wouldn’t have to take time off and could sneak out a bit early and make it.

I would most likely not be able to make it at 5:30, even if I went straight from work.

6:30! More romantic-al with the setting sun and candles. Oh, and easier for me get to if it’s on a Friday night.

6:30 for sure.  IMO, 5:30 is too early for a workday.  Guests will appreciate some time to get home from work, change, and get to your ceremony on time without having to leave early from their jobs.

I’m biased, I work until 6…I’d have to leave early for either time, even for something somewhat local, and would most likely have to use half a personal day for it…As somebody who gets very few personal/vacation days, I prefer just not a Friday wedding tbh, but if you have to do Friday for whatever reason, later is always better so more people don’t have to leave work earlier

Definitely 6:30, but if I were having a Friday wedding, I’d push it back even later. If I get off work at 5, I’m home between 5:20 and 5:45. Then I have to clean up, and for a wedding, that probably means a shower, makeup, and blowdrying my hair. Plus, I have to get dressed. Somewhere in there, I MUST eat or I’ll be hangry. So by now, it’s probablt 6:45. Then I have to get to the venue and park. 7:30, if the venue is close to me, would work.

I’d say the later one because some people work until 4:30-5, have the commute, and then have to get ready and get to the location of the wedding. Even 6:30 could be a bit early for some people. I am assuming you’re feeding your guests, but if not, they’d have to work dinner into there too.
