So… my husband has been studying architecture in Italy since August and doesn’t come home until December. I got to go to Europe to visit him a couple of weeks ago, but I miss him something fierce, Bees!
Embarrassing confession time: the other night I went through his colognes to find the one that ‘smells like him’ so that I could spray it on one of our pillows. It helps me sleep better, I swear.
He has several colognes that he cycles through and he doesn’t really wear one more often than any of the others, but for some reason there’s one that sticks out to me as HIS smell and it’s Carolina Herrera 212 for Men.
What colognes (or maybe soaps, shampoos, etc) make you think of your guy?

Ivory soap. He doesn’t wear cologne.

Black by Kenneth Cole. Mmmm
Not cologne, but his Old Spice deodorant.
Everyman Jack deodorant in Cedarwood hahaha
I don’t think he understands cologne, let alone wears it.

@rachelmichelle: BTW, is your husband an architect? Because Italy is like a pilgrimage for us, I bet he’s totally loving it. 🙂
I still remember it vividly, and I really can’t say that about many thing haha!

La Nuit De L’Homme by YSL or Tuscan Leather by Tom Ford. I love how he smells so much, sometimes I’ll just wear his cologne.

Irish Spring body wash, since DH isn’t a cologne wearer

@rachelmichelle: DH wears Old Spice deoderant, and every time I smell it I swoon because it smells just like him.

He no longer wears cologne since all the big name ones are full of phthalates, and we haven’t bothered to find some healthy alternatives we really like. (I don’t wear my old favorite perfumes either).
He used to wear a Chanel cologne… I forget which. I don’t think it was “Sport,” he had that one too but think it was the one he rarely wore and I hated (smelled very sharp, vaguely reminscent of urine to me, yuck). I’m not 100% that Sport was the one that smelled that way… it’s been years now.
Luckily we both like the way we naturally smell… he’s won some genetic lottery and very very rarely has any BO smell (he sweats but his fresh sweat might as well be water). However, he does have a distinct, very subtle, smell to his skin, which is strongest on his neck just above his shoulders. So, in answer to your question, that smell I guess!
I don’t know how to describe it. I think it’s full of the exact pheromones that my genes or whatever were looking for, because I feel kind of ridiculous but my first thought is to say it smells “like heaven” and my feeling is a bit X rated :)))). Objectively it smells… I don’t know, like some kind of spice maybe? But not like any real spice I’ve ever smelled. It smells “heady” and “deep” (despite it being so subtle). Sorry, Chanel, you really couldn’t compete with that anyway, even if you changed your colognes to be filled with antioxidants instead of phthalates! 😀

The blue Speed Stick always smells like him which is yum but he also wears acqua di gio by giorgio armani. FREAKING AMAZING. Plus his body has his own smell I love too:)

I think it’s called RGX bodyspray in Chill? It’s discontinued now, but it’s what he wore when we were in highschool (: He wore it our entire senior year and first year of university, but then they stopped making it. I got a whole bunch of cans of it off of Ebay for Christmas this year though ahah. He hasn’t worn any cologne or any kind of scent since then though.

He doesn’t wear cologne, which I’m happy with becuase I’m not a fan of most colognes. I associate them with bars and drunken college parties, lol.
He wears Old Spice deodorant and uses the bodywash too, so I guess that’s the scent that I most associate with him besides the smell of his skin/pheromones.

DH loves the Old Spice deodorants too and there are a couple that I LOVE. I think they’re like Matterhorn or Swagger or something? I’m not sure.
@Barbiestylez: I LOVE Aqua di Gio. But DH won’t wear it because his dad has it lol.
@CakeyP: He’s in his final year of undergrad, heading to grad school in the fall. He’s currently studying at the Vicenza Institute of Architecture in northern Italy and he is having a pretty fantastic time. Italy in general isn’t his favorite, but when we went to Rome he did get to see a lot of Bernini, who’s one of his favorite artists/architects. But I think Slovenia and Germany are actually the places he loves most in Europe. He also loves Barcelona in general but architecturally he’s not a fan of Gaudí.
