It is to be worn alone (or with a matching plain band). I really am having a hard time deciding between Yellow gold and Rose gold (14K)! I wear mostly yellow gold now, but I know that may change with time. I have pink undertones so rose gold looks subtle but sophisticated on me. However, I have to order this ring online, so I won’t be sure of the exact rose tone, which is affected by the alloy. Also, there are tons of photos of this ring on hands, but only in the yellow gold, none in the rose! (Sorry, I can’t seem to shrink the photos below)
A different (larger) version of the band than I will be getting, shown in rose gold:
The band on someone with skintone similar to mine (but I have more noticable reds and blues happening…)

Honestly I can barely tell there is a ring in that first one and I think its the open design not the skin tone. I guess Id go with rose gold but the plain band is much more noticeable

@Mrs Christopher: Thanks – I am actually deciding between yellow or rose gold in that plaited band, not a plain band. The plain band photo is only there for color reference. However, I will probably add a plain band to stack afterwards.
Though I do think the photo with the plaited band that you’re referring to is probably washed out a bit so that combined with the open weave makes it even more subtle. That’s okay, I like subtle!

OMG I’ve been imagining this exact band in my head but haven’t found it yet, can I ask where you found it? I’ve only found tightly braided ones but love the gap between the braids. It would be perfect to go with my rose gold e-ring.
I voted get both and pay the restocking fee but vote #2 would be to go for the rose, but I’m partial to rose gold 🙂

I personally prefer yellow to rose gold, so I vote yellow. The only thing I have against rose gold is that in very thin bands, it doesn’t look like a precious metal at all, but that’s just me.
If you really like the rose gold, though, then you should get it because the uncommon color of rose gold goes well with such a unique band (at least it’s unique to me, I’ve never seen a plaited band). I don’t think the exact shade of rose gold will vary too much, so I’d just order it if I were you.
