I am having a simple garden wedding (I am an encore bride) followed by a cocktail type reception. We were not planning on doing any of the traditional reception stuff except for cutting the cake. Now my two youngest BMs are clamoring for a bouquet toss. OK, so do I toss the bouquet before or after cutting the cake?

It depends on if you’re offering dinner at the reception. If you’re offering dinner, usually, shortly after dinner, you cut your cake so that your guests can enjoy it for dessert, then you do the bouquet toss

Nope, light refreshments are being served buffet style.

I think after!!! Then you get to hold onto it for a while longer.

Hmm…my vote is still after!

I say after. Usually the cake cutting and serving is done after any part of the food service. The bouquet toss is done when the party has started.

Before. The cake cutting is done closer to the end of the reception, and the other ‘stuff’ is done beforehand.
Doesn’t matter what you’re serving (plated, buffet).most vendors will tell you they never cut the cake right away. There’s usually a time gap since most people aren’t ready for dessert immediately after eating dinner.

I think after…but really any way is acceptable and everyone does it differently!

I vote for after 🙂
But I am not tossing my bridal one, I am having one made just for the toss 😉
