It seems like the In brand in my area right now is Michael Kors. But I am still a Coach girl at heart. I haven’t purchased a MK bag yet. I think I will always be a Coach girl. But I am lusting after a Tory Burch.

I prefer mk.  Honestly I think the outlets cheapened the coach brand.  When practically every 12 year old even has one can you can get them early for under 100 bucks now, I don’t see it as a quality adult piece anymore.  They are still really popular though and I have 2.  They do have a lot of cute designs, but how I feel about the brand is what stops me from buying them.

I like the Michael Kors brand more than Coach. I like the classic Coach styles for a casual outfit sometimes, but I think they’ve watered down the brand with so many outlet shops. I do think the quality of Coach far exceeds MK. Even the MK Saffiano leather stuff is highway robbery for the quality.

At the Coach/MK price point, I like Rebecca Minkoff, Kate Spade, Tory Burch, and especially Marc by Marc Jacobs more.

When I shop for a new bag, I don’t look for a specific brand…I just buy what I like…if the price is right. I think it’s great that Coach has so many outlets…it makes the bags more affordable. I don’t think being able to buy a bag for under $100 makes it any less “adult”. I have a few Coach bags and I have yet to buy a MK because I think they’re overpriced but I do like the style of some of them. I actually bought a Kate Spade yesterday for $80 and I love it.

I’m not really a fan of either and here is why; Ive seen some beautiful leather coach bags (my gf has a few) but the quality just isn’t there, they scuff easily and the color can fade quickly. It’s disappointing because they really have some stunning bags. However they are still a pretty reputable handbag company with years in the industry while MK just got into the industry. He tries to be high end when he’s really mass market, copies other designs, and only got into accessories for the quick buck (He started with clothes but the avg women won’t pay $300 for a dress but they will for a bag). every time I see a monogram MK bag I shudder because it’s a blatent rip off of the LV mon mono. There are MK outlet stores as well so you can make that argument for either brand. I’m not saying you shouldn’t get either, if you love something who cares get it, just telling u my opinion.  personally I’d rather have a couple of higher hand bags then lots of MK/coach bags so I put my money into LV, prada an ISL bags mostly and you get what you pay for, lifetime bags you can pass on to daughters and granddaughters.  @vttp926 I have quite a few tory bags and while I love them they don’t hold up that well, just an FYI if you decide to get one. If you dont use them daily it’s fine but if u got one say to use as your work purse don’t be surprised if you start seeing issues. Just wanted to make you aware so you didn’t expect smth that will last forever as they are expensive. Still totally get one just dont beat up on it (im rough on my bags).

MRS-K:  I have more coach bags and recently got into MK and other high end designers.  I love my Coach bags and feel that they have lasted and held up well but what made me want to try a different bag is that the past few times I’ve went out to events in my area, it seems like every woman you bump into in the crowd has a Coach bag.  Between that and like another bee mentioned, you see tons of pre-teen and teen girls carrying them, it made me feel a little less like I was carrying an adult brand.  I always bought black or brown cloth Coach bags so I opted for a black leather MK and I really love the bag.  My mom recently splurged on a nice Burberry bag and while I’m not quite ready to spend that kind of $$ on a bag yet, I will probably be looking to do what BWLE mentioned as far as investing in a few much higher end bags.  I don’t change out my purses very frequently so it would be nice to have a few bags that I really love and that I won’t be bumping into the same label every place I go.

citysparkle:  I don’t mean the fact that it’s less than $100 makes it less adult. It’s the fact that it seems like every teenager is carrying *because* it’s affordable.  Kate spade has lots of great bags for under $100 during their surprise sales, and they are just as ‘adult’ as any other since it’s not popular with the teens.

I am not really a fan of either, but I choose Coach since I like some of their iconic bags ( ones they have been making since the 1960’s and 1970’s), I am not a big fan of their newer style bags or any bags with big logos for that matter. My tastes tend to cater more towards Kate Spade since their bags are fun and quirky and have character, for bags in this price range, Tory Burch and Longchamp make some nice styles as well.

Neither. I haven’t worn a Coach bag since HS and MK I haven’t worn in 3-4 years either.

MRS-K:  Coach leathers cannot be beat, IMHO, and I do feel the company is making strides in offering more up to date styling. Not a big fan of their canvas as the bags I’ve purchased frayed and showed soil rather quickly. But I am a hard-core all leather Coach fan and probably own several dozen, and continue to purchase new (factory online or outlets).

I like Michael Kors better than Coach, I love MK’s zippered wallet for iphone and also have a MK tote bag, but my favorite is Dooney Bourke.

I’ve only had a MK out of the two, but I prefer the Kenneth Cole I have now. Ideally I would have a Proenza Schouler.
