I need some opinions! My Fiance and I are eloping late july/early august, and I’ve decided that I just want a simple, short dress. I’ve looked at a few at david’s bridal and another local bridal shop but wasn’t in love with any of the ones I tried on. So I’ve turned to the internet. I’ve found two that I really do like. (Note, I’m 5ft, about 105lbs, and a C cup. if that helps anything.)
This is the first dress I found:
This is the second one:
Right now I’m leaning towards the first one, as I like the overall look of it a tiny bit more but I love the skirt on the second one.
So, what do you guys think?

I like the second one better personally. The first feels 1950s if that’s more your style. However, I would caution you with Modcloth. I’ve heard mixed reviews about their quality. If you’re trying to save money, I would recommend looking into Rent the Runway. You can rent a designer dress and jewelry for the same price (or cheaper) than buying from Modcloth. Their customer service is amazing and the selection is huge. I’ve rented countless times, including for my own wedding and rehearsal dinner. I highly recommend them.

bridetobexx: 1 feels more bridal, but it seems like you have a large bust for a small frame… Would it look disproportionate on your tiny frame?

I strongly prefer the first one. I think it’s more bridal and more classic.
The second dress looks very short, very informal, and possibly low quality.

I really love the first one as well!! It looks very classy and elegant IMO.
the second one looks more like a homecoming dress to me, but also depends on where u are eloping??

Christy42213: Modcloth’s quality is a mixed bag, but they’re really great about returns! I wouldn’t hesitate to at least buy it and try it on.

We’re having a courtroom elopement followed by pictures in the city and dinner with friends afterwards. I want something that still looks bridal but isn’t going to break the bank or look tacky.
Thanks for the link, zenostar! I’ll have to check out that website. 🙂
Any other suggestions of where to look for shorter dresses? I’m just not sure, I might go back to David’s Bridal and see if they don’t have anything else.

- Wedding: A very pretty church.
bridetobexx: This will reveal me to be the stalker of modcloth…that I am.
Have a look at the reviews, lots of wedding photos in there, with women of every size and shape wearing it and looking lovely, seems a really flattering cut, with plenty of room for ‘the girls’.

I like the 1st dress better, looks more formal and bridal.
