I have started dress shopping and I am currently in love with two dresses! Please help me decide which dress you think looks better. I am extremely short (like 4′ 11′ ) so I’ve been trying to find a dress that will make me look taller and not shorten me too much.
#1 is Maggie Sottero Talese
#2 is Alyce and I’m unsure of the name of the dress right now 🙁

I love the top on the 2nd one! Pretty!

They both have a pretty similar shape and look nice, but I’m leaning slightly toward the Maggie Talese

I voted the Alyce. I feel like the sweetheart helps elongate your torso better whereas the Maggie’s straight top cuts you off bluntly.
If you really like the Maggie, maybe try to see if a seamstress can alter it into a sweetheart neckline?

The Alyce is romantic with the roses and unique! I have seen the first one a lot on the wedding bee. Love the 2nd one!

They’re both similar, but I chose the first one because it makes your waist look tinyyy

Girl, I would never be able to tell in the Maggie picture that you’re 4’11”. If you’re going for “height,” Maggie does it for you. But both dresses are absolutely lovely!

i voted for #1..it is waaay more flattering on you…. the second one makes youlook a little….top heavy?? sorry!!!! but the first is stunning on you!

My dress is very similar to the Talese (Saratoga), and although I am a couple of inches taller than you (5’2), found it made me feel taller. I’m having the front hem changed to a bubble hem to match the train. So although I’m biased, my vote is definitely for the Talese. That being said, I would have said the same, because I feel like the strap on the Alyce is slightly overwhelming.

I really like the second one; the only reason I didn’t vote for it is that I don’t love the ruffle thing around the neckine and on the shoulder. That detail, IMO, takes away from the whole look. It’s “top-heavy,” as a PP said. Without the ruffle, though, I love that dress on you.

I think dress #1 flows on you better, I do like #2 but feel it’s a little too busy on the top? But honestly, I had a hard time choosing, they both look good.

Thanks Everyone for the comments!
The Alyce dress is Evangeline 7766. I have posted a picture of the model so you can see the dress a little better since my picture isn’t the greatest.
I love the first dress but I’m not sure if I feel something is missing from it.
I also love the second dress but back of the dress is very simple and the train is a lot shorter than the maggie. The strap on the second dress is also removable but I didn’t get a picture with it off.
Let me know what you think!

@LizethG: Personally, I like dress one on you best. I think the dropped waist on the first dress elongates your torso more, giving the illusion of height. If you feel like something is missing, try checking with the bridal salon to see if they could order in some flowers (or you could also check etsy….lots of neat flowers there) and then have the seamstress tuck the flowers into the pickups on dress one. If you don’t like flowers you could also see if you could find some sparkleys to add near the pickups in dress #1.
