I saw another bee create a poll to help her decide on her dress and thought id give it a shot since im at the place where I feel stuck. I initally had a hard time getting into dresses because my sister-in-law to be bought the dress (and got married in) the one I wanted (yes, I told her that was the one I had my eye on). So I was pretty heartbroken and really hated putting anything else on when I first started looking. Since then, Ive truly had a hard time finding anything that ‘wowed’ me and was starting to feel really defeated and sad about it all. But alas, two dresses have caught my eye and now I’m having a hard time choosing between them. This is a pretty big deal for me since not only do I want to find and choose ‘the dress’ like any girl dreams of, but also want it to top the dress I feel that my SIL stole.
With that being said, I have narrowed it down to 2 very drastically different dresses: Martina Liana 428 (with slight tweaking) and the Maggie Soterro Adalee.
I never thought I’d like either dress and even after looking at the picture in the magazine, I wouldnt think to try the Martina on, but on me, I really love it. Im equally sold on the Adalee because I can wear my moms lace veil with it and I think that is something that will be special to both of us – it helps that the Adalee is also beautiful.
This isnt my mums veil…or necessarily the belt I’d want, we just put one on to see.

And the Martina Liana…
We changed the belt from the brown sash that the dress comes in to this one… though this wouldnt be the one id want. And we lay a crystal beaded aplique at the bottom to get an idea of what it would look like if I added an Inch of crystal all the way around. I felt it needed a bit more sparkle since the bottom was simple.

I havnt gone with mom or MOH yet and will be doing that tomorrow. We have very different taste (me and my mom), so im nervous to see if she will like any or none at all :s
I would appreciate any feedback, bees!

Both look great on you! The 2nd one gets my vote, it is just moreclassics to me, again…justmay opinion 🙂

I like the second one. It has such an elegance to it!

Both dresses are very beautiful, so, you really cannot make a wrong decision. However, you have a fabulous figure, and you look completely amazing in the first dress!

You look awesome in both! I have to say I’d probably go with the second, though. Mermaids are really in RIGHT NOW but I wonder how people will look at them in 10 or 20 years. The second is timeless and beautiful, though you rock the mermaid too. You can’t really make a wrong choice, here.

I LOVE the Adalee on you! And I love the idea of you wearing your Mom’s veil, that’s a beautiful sentiment. You look gorgeous in dress 2 as well, but dress 1 has the true wow factor for me!

I love the first one! How tall are you??

Both are beautiful, but I think the more classic 2nd dress is better.

the maggie dress really shows off your curves, but im biased because I love maggie dresses

WOW. Man it is no contest for me, the first one is amazing. I can’t imagine whatever your SIL wore being as good as that!

I love the second one ! Sooo pretty and elegant !

LOVEEEE the Adalee on you! You look amazing in it!

I dislike mermaid dresses but it is the one that gets my vote.
The second dress is more my style, however the bodice is so short that your torso looks really short and a bit “odd”. Perhaps a wider belt would help this issue.
Seeing as the two dresses are so different in style, think about how they would work functionally, could you walk well in both? Sit down well in both? Does this sway you either way?

You could wear either dress as they’re both beautiful. I personally love the second dress…..but then I am a sucker for ballgowns. I think the second dress is timeless and classic.
