I decided that instead of buying a “perfect” dress for my shower.. I would donate an extra $50 to my favorite charity and shop from my closet instead. Pretty happy 🙂 Now which one should I choose?
My shower is semi-formal with a Breakfast at Tiffany’s theme.
Option 1: Semi-fitted ivory lace dress. I would buy a pretty belt to go with it. (Purchased by my future grandmother in law last year. I wear it occasionally.)
Option 2: SHORT, relatively shapeless, white dress. (Bought it for my high school graduation. Haven’t worn it since.)

First, I want to say that you have a fantastic figure and would look good in many different things. However, I voted that you should keep looking. Here is why I think that.
The first dress is much prettier than the second. However, both of these dresses are pretty short, and, from a design perspective, a dress that is strapless should not also be short. When it is, it tends to have the “wrapped in a bath towel” look, no matter how beautiful the dress is (and this one is beautiful) or how wonderful the figure of the woman wearing it.
The second dress is cute, but I think it’s a bit too short to sit at a shower opening presents on your lap. Also, because you have great curves, I don’t think that the top of the second dress is the best style with which to showcase them. I don’t like the puckered horizontal line across the bust.

@OnceUponATime: I love the first one! Your future grandmother in law has great taste!

@Brielle: I can definitely agree on the “too short” part. I’m comfortable standing in it (I’m only 5’0” so longer dresses look disproportional on me), but sitting will definitely not work. I’ll head to some thrift shops and see what else I can find and post the results!
Although, I have to admit, it makes me chuckle that you say I have curves. lol. I have a 32B chest, 27in waist, and 36in hips. I feel like I look like a boy with zero curve whatsoever.
I think it looks like I have curves because I ripped the toe nail off of one of my feet so I could only try on one heel at a time. lol

I’m shoced by how may of you like the first.
It’s a cheap, $15 dress from Rue 21.
The second is a high quality, $50 dress from NY&Co!

The first one! So pretty.

@OnceUponATime: I think they’re both pretty but I’d also be slightly concerned about the length. Don’t forget you’re going to be sitting and opening gifts, with lots of eyes (and possibly even cameras) on you. Just don’t want any awkward moments. 🙂

@OnceUponATime: Honestly the only reason I liked the first better is because of the length of the second one…it’s super short. 🙂 Both are cute though.
