The poppy one has my vote by a long shot. I love it, and dresses like it. I think it will look great!
they're both gorgeous! the one on the left has an elegant "feel," while the one on the right "feels" more casual.
Thanks ladies. I was leaning toward the poppy one myself. Of course, fizicsGuy informs me that while he really likes the fit, the layered fabric reminds him of scales. He thinks the other one looks like a mumu though. Grrr...I informed him that b/c of this he has to wait while I dress shop after picking up my ring in San Francisco tomorrow. And if I don't find anything, then scales it is...he can just live with it.
I like the poppy one for the RD, especially if it's going to be kind of formal...both are beautiful tho!

I love the poppy colored one! It's a fun color, but very classy at the same time. Plus it might fit with the venue better.
by far i like the striped one better BUT i think the poppy is more formal and you should go with the one that doesn't need alterations...weddings cost enough as it is!
Thanks so much ladies for your input. FI's opinion got the best of me, though, and I ended up with this (final sale so no going back). It got his thumbs up, though. As a bonus, though it needs a wee bit of tailoring, it will still also be the cheapest option. I got several compliments in the store (as well as some jealous glances b/c it was the last one). BTW, BCBG has almost everything on sale. I got a couple clutches for gifts at a steal (70% off).

I'm so frustrated looking for dresses, but I think I've got two options. Our RD is fairly formal (at an estate), but I think both are fine dressiness-wise. The Laundry dress (multi-color stripes) will need extensive alterations while the Poppy colored BCBG one pretty much just fits. Both were good deals at Macy's One Day (every few weeks) sale...so cost is not really a deciding factor.
Any thoughts?
