Ugh, These are the two dresses that were the best. Although, I live in the middle of no where and my selection was nada. Unless I wanted a ballgown that was three times times larger than our venue...
So here are the pics my mother took of the top two dresses. Any suggestions? Keep looking? I realize I have fake smiles here, I was irritated that my mother kept telling me to "suck it in" in front of the woman helping us. It was really unlike her and I am selfconsious about my weight. Also I did not wear great underwear for the second dress lol. So please egnore that. I won't say what I thought about the dresses until some people have say something about them.

there are two very very different dress. One has a super plunging neckline and the other i feel is very conservative. To be brutally honest im not the biggest fan of either, but I voted for the first one. (I like everything about the first one except how low the neckline goes....)
What kind of setting are you getting married in?
I like the lace one a lot! I think it flatters your nice figure while also having an elegant/classic look to it!
I voted lace dress. The front would be a little too low for me to be comfortable in personally, but apart from that I think it is beautiful. Especially the back. I understand that the Pippa dress will look better when it’s not a sample size and with the correct undies, but it just doesn’t seem as ‘bridal’ as the lace dress.
dress #1 gets my vote - i like the straps and love the lace but i am concerned about the plunging neckline (i like it but not every woman would be comfortable wearing it) and i think your body looks great
Love the lace one. I think the satin, tho pretty and elegant in its own way, always looks to me more like it should be night gown more than a wedding dress.
I think they both look very nice. My favorite is the lace dress. Personally, I would add a little bit of lace to the neckline, but it looks lovely just the way it is.
The first one is my favorite of the two, but like others I thought the neckline is too revealing. If it were me, I'd probably add some fabric to it to make it more modest, but it's all about your personal taste. I don't think the second one flatters you.
I'm not going to vote - it sounds like you don't love either of them, but it's your wedding dress and you SHOULD love whatever you end up with! I think you should keep looking.
If I'm just reading into your post wrong, and you do in fact love one more than the other (or really like both and can't decide), my vote would go to the first. I think it's more flattering.
I like the lace but think maybe it's to much boob showing. Im jealous of your girls lol I currently have none but maybe trying to add something to keep them covered
Yeah I agree with you ladies. I am getting married in a "church" It's a Unitarian Universalist Church. I would have the lace one modified as you can CLEARLY see one of my breasts is much larger than the other. I am not interested in having my lady parts flopping around. I never would have posted this anywhere else :P
Also, the Pippa dress, the lady said was my size HAHAHA yeah right. I love how the seams are pulling.
I am going to keep looking but I am just not sure where.
Lace. The other is going to require all sorts of special undergarments that may or may not be comfortable. Not specifically for your body, but because there's nothing short of a bodysuit anyone could wear under that that wouldn't show through.
I love the lace one on you! It's so flattering and beautiful. It is a little plunging though, I agree.
as you can CLEARLY see one of my breasts is much larger than the other'
???? am i the only one that went back up and inspect because i didnt notice at all :)
where do you live to have no store options???
Lace all the way. All you need to do is add in a panel for modesty purposes. GORGEOUS.
I really think the lace one is pretty!! You have a gorgeous figure!! I loved the back on that one, too. And I couldn't see anything wrong with your "lady parts"...but I know that I am the same way too (I think a lot of women are this way!), and maybe things you notice about yourself aren't things anyone else would ever see. :) Either way, just make sure the dress you decide on is something YOU love. Good luck and keep us posted!
Of the two, I prefer the first one (with a modesty panel or something so that the neckline won't be so low). It's very flattering. It does seem that you don't love either of the dresses, though, so I would suggest continuing to look until you find a dress you love! :-)
@eloping: Lol the one on the left is a cup and a half bigger. (My right, your left) But I am happy you said that lol. But maybe I noticed because my mother was pointing out which dress hid it and which ones showed the size difference.
I live in Upstate NY...way upstate not Albany. The nearest wedding dress store was two hours away. There is one that carries a few 30 minutes away. But when I say a few, I mean a few. The store I was in for these photos was the 2 hour away one.
Note: Ladies, I would never leave my breasts exposed like that. I would definitly have it altered in some way. I am certainly not as daring as some.
I think I liked the Pippa at the time only because it was so freaking comfortable. (Except for the fact that it was a size to small). I was also afraid of it sticking to me in the summer. The wedding is in July and I did not want to think of what it would do with sweat. Yuck.
I love the lace one! I have to agree with the front being a little flashy but I have no boobs so I don't know what its like to have cleavage! The back of this dress is very flattering on you!
I like the first one on you! I didn't notice the boobie thing, but if you add a modesty panel and maybe sew a cup into the smaller side, NO ONE will notice. It makes your waist look super tiny too. You're probably one of the few who could actually pull off that Pippa dress, but it doesn't have the bridal feel and it doesn't do as much for your figure as that lace one!
Jeez ladies. Thank you so much for the compliments. When I gained 30 lbs at college all the weight went straight to my breasts, bum, and thighs. Luckally it is hidden well in the dress. (If you are thinking "you could not have possibly put on 30lbs" I used to be a ballerina, so this is me with 30lbs on me.
@DeadUtopia: Thanks for the compliment.
I felt nice in the dress but I agree, it did not have a wedding feel. It was casual. Probably why Pippa got away with white on her sisters wedding day haha. I don't like the photos even though I liked the dress when it was on.
Pictures are a must when trying on dresses. I can't tell you how many times I put something on that I thought was super awesome and then saw a picture of me in it and thought "what...that can't be..." lol
The lace dress is lovely on you! I feel like there is something else out there for you, though. I went to university in Buffalo, NY so I have an idea of what you're up against selection-wise. I know the distance to a big store with a great selection is difficult to bear but I hope you have that opportunity to explore a larger selection and find a dress that is without a doubt your dress.
Woah, cleavage. I would like the first if it wasn't all hanging out.
Hate the second, looks to grandma.
The first one looks incredible! Hugs and flatters in all the right places. Classic and sexy at the same time.
What make & style is it?
@reginaphalange: I'm with you. I wouldn't want a wedding dress I didn't love and I would feel even worse about it given the cost of dresses.
Have you thought about going to a shop in Canada or Vermont? If you're looking for suggestions for the latter, PM me.
The lace one but I would just alter the plunge to cover up a little more. I think with alterations it will be perfect on you!
Lace one, all the way. And you look great by the way, 30lbs extra or not.
If you need recommendations on Canadian bridal stores I might be able to help you out with that. I'm in London, Ontario about 2 hrs from Detroit and 2 hrs from Toronto so PM me if you have any questions about where to look!
