Trying to think of a refreshing and festive drink to serve at the pre- and post-ceremony cocktail hours of my July wedding…
Champagne and popsicle
Champagne and a scoop of sorbet
Champagne and fruit juice
Just plain champagne

@beeconomist: I’m not a huge fan of champagne, so my vote is for the popsicle and champagne! Love, love that idea!

I like the sherbert one! But If its outside I would also have popsicles, if people are that hot, and the kids would def love it.

I love my champagne with pomegranate seeds, or frozen blueberries, strawberries (really any frozen berry). Maybe they can match your color scheme?

I’d love any of these, but the one with sorbet in particular!

The one with the popsicles! Love that idea!

I’d rather have the plain champagne. The popsicle and sherbet are more like dessert.

@beeconomist: I’d say anything but the drink with the stick in it. I’d totally poke my eye out and it could take the less coordinated guests TWO hands to drink it (one hand to hold back the stick and the other to hold the glass to the lips).
I like the sorbet idea and also the fruit idea. How about when they put the fruit puree in it and top it with champagne. The name escapes me. YUM!
Chambord, champagne and a couple of floating raspberries would be delightful too. Mmm…

Sorbet or fruits sounds refreshing. Not sure about the popsicle one. I guess it would depend what is the flavor.

icks-ne on the popsicle… i just see the stick getting in the way. why not have a variety. Let the guests choose what they want. my favs are champagne and the mimosa/bellini type beverage

I love the sorbet option! I’d also have a few plain glasses of champagne around for people who aren’t interested in fancying their drinks up!

I’d rather just have plain champagne or champagne with a little fruit puree (not juice) or liquor and some frozen fruits thrown in (like frozen raspberries or blueberries).
I don’t typically like my champagne watered down with fruit juice or anything else. I do like mimosas but I make mine with barely any OJ and only like those during brunch hours.

I like the idea of champagne with popsicles but it sounds kind of messy. I don’t know if I’d be into it in my formal wear. I think sorbet would be a better idea.

wow thanks for the great input everyone!
the popsicles looked so fun and different but i didn’t even think about how difficult and messy it might be to actually drink! glad i asked or I would have never thought of that! popsicle idea is out! 🙂

@Sea_Ashley: +1 to the frozen berries! Looks great, tastes great, and will keep everyone cool!
