I just got back from Michael’s where they were having a 7/$1 sale on 12×12 scrapbook paper so I snatched up this cute purple paisley design – 30 sheets for $4. Score! I think I can fit 3 liners or so per sheet.
When I came home, I got some paper samples in the mail that I had ordered from PaperMojo. I was originally going to go for a gold design.. and this floral one is super pretty and not as expensive as the Paper Source stuff I was stalking for a while (stupid gold mums.. why am I so obsessed?!). I can get an 18×30 sheet for $2.99 and am thinking I can fit 8-10 liners per sheet.
Everything together including the invitation (so you can comment on which “goes” better overall!):
Which one do you like better? I think the paisley is super cute and colorful but I’m not sure if it clashes with the invite or looks too busy. Even if I stay with the paisley I might have to supplement with a few gold ones because I don’t think I’ll have enough (I need 105 or so.) The gold one looks really elegant to me but not as fun and colorful. Opinions? Thanks 🙂

I know the gold matches your invites but I actually really like the look of the purple.
Both of them look lovely tho so they would both work!

I like the purple better too, very pretty!

I like the purple better. The gold does look good with your invites, but it’s not the exact same gold and I’m not into the shine factor.

I think both are stunning, but the purple kind of pops more, so I voted for the purple 🙂 either you choose will look great!

They both look great…why not do some of each? 🙂

I think since you have so much gold in your invite, the purple liner is a great choice. I think the gold might be a bit too much gold for the overall look. I also really like the paisley design, which I think pops more in purple. Beautiful choices! You have great taste!

Well that was helpful – thanks for the comments and votes! I can definitely see how the purple pops more now. Works for me – I’ll save some $ by not getting the expensive gold paper! Michaels gets new paper shipments in on Monday, so maybe I’ll call and see if they have more of this pattern. Hopefully it stays on sale, it’s practically free at 14 cents a sheet. If not, I think it was only like 59 cents regularly.. so I’ll just need a few more.

I love the purple one, I saw a pp say do some in both. I think thats a great idea if it’s feasible for you.

@miss.wiggums: Yeah I’m still thinking about it.. I could get a few sheets of the gold and it wouldn’t be too expensive. Let’s see what FI says. He often doesn’t like when I choose “girly” things, and both are pretty girly. But then comes the dilemma of who gets which liner!? I’m so crazy about random little details… I bet normal people won’t even notice the liner and will just throw away my beautiful hand-assembled, hand-written envelopes!

I really like the purple! Did you use any kind of templet for the liners? This is my newest ‘I don’t really need it at ALL but I’m going to obsess about it and probably do it anyways since I’m already making 120 pocketfold invitations from scratch’ obsession. haha

I love the purple as well. Great choice!

I like the gold a lot better!

I like the purple a lot better. The gold seems faded.

I’d say do both! They’re both beautiful. I normally can get 5 per sheet on the Michael’s paper. Line the bottoms of the liner with the bottom of the paper. Trace three in a row and then flip the template with the envelope point facing down and fit it into the groves at the top of the three other tracings. You can get two on there this way. Does that make sense?
