Barbiestylez:  I’ve always wanted to go snorkling! You see lots of cool stuff but it’s not as scary as sharks or scuba diving lol

Oh and the only excursions I’ve done was a river boat tour in Belize (lots of animals!) and seeing (and climbing!) the Mayan Ruins

Snorkeling is cool but something that can be done at any tropical resort for free so I wouldn’t waste an excursion for that. I think horseback riding, swimming with dolphins/stingrays, renting a 4×4, or ziplining sound the most fun. Renting a 4×4 sounds awesome if it’s a Wrangler or something bc then you two can really explore and do what you want. You might even be able to stop and snorkel!

I would also recommend you check out the particular excursions on http://www.cruisecritic.com whether you are thinking of booking with the ship or privately.

It can make a big difference in your experience depending on the vendor and the port of call.

Barbiestylez:  I’d say ziplining and swimming with dolphins, for sure!!

I’ve ALWAYS wanted to swim with dolphins! I went snorkling once and it was kind of anticlimactic and the mask thing was sort of uncomfortable. Horseback riding is really fun but you don’t have to go anywhere exotic to do it!

I’m terrified of sharks so that’s out for me. Sharks have survived all 5 mass extinctions. Just think about it — they are already perfect killing machines. TERRIFIED!

Well, I would say it depends on where you are going? How adventurous are you?

Snorkeling in Mexico was awful as the waves were so choppy it was hard to see anything let alone moving around, yet snorkeling in Hawaii is so beautiful and fun.

Will you have time to tour the island in a jeep? Will you get bored after a while with the stingrays?

Whether or not snorkeling is a good option is based off where you are going to be. If it is a major reef than yes, yes, yes.

What type of sharks would you be swimming with? A lot of things can go wrong with sharks. I’ve gone swimming with stingrays and sharks (nice, nurse sharks), and it was a totally cool experience that I loved. I’ve also swam with a dolphin and that was pretty darn cool too.

Ziplining is fun too, depending on where you go. It’s something you have to do once in your life.

We went horseback riding in Costa Rica, and my butt hurt like crazy afterwards… totally boring excursion, IMO.

Renting a jeep and driving the island will give you the chance to see the real country and try the real local food.

We’ve been on 6-7 cruises and have done some of those. Typically the cruiseline discouages any type of 4×4, moped etc rental because it can be really dangerous and you don’t want to get seriously hurt in a foreign place.

Love snorkling, my personal favorite. Do you have a scuba liscense? That would be fun if you do, but if not you really can’t do anything worth while. Swimming with dolphins always great, just read reviews on the particular excursion. You can do the beach day on your day off of excursions since you can just hop off the ship and many spots and you’re there. Zipling could be fun, but also potentially dangerous. We can feed stingrays at our zoo so that’s not something I’d do. It just depends on your personal perferences.

Since the poll only permitted us to choose one, I selected snorkeling. I LOVE snorkeling.  It’s one of my passions, and I always look forward to being able to do that when I go on vacation in the Caribbean.

Stingray City is a fun excursion, but you may find an excursion in Cayman that will offer both a snorkeling experience and Stingray City.  I would choose that combination tour, because then you can do both!

By the way, I haven’t been on here very much anymore, since I can no longer post from my phone (it’s too old to interact properly with the text boxes on the new WB site) and also because I am working  full time again.  However, didn’t your wedding recently take place? Was it amazing?! I am going to go search to see if you’ve posted any pics!

What are your options in Belize? The river tour, cave tube trip, and Mayan ruins are all good ones too. The snorkeling in Belize is amazing. No matter where I go and snorkel, I will always compare it to Belize.

We went swimming with the stingrays and sharks at Shark Ray Alley there. The guides were crazy fun and it was safe and a blast.
