I am in the processing of deciding on and ordering a Belaro to match my dress and am very torn about what fabric will look best. I want it to match the fabric and color of my dress as much as possible. My dress is the Maggie Sottero “Jenna” dress, in ivory? Also, my dress is made of taffeta. Here is a link if anyone wants/needs to see it, http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?style=J1317. I am having a Belaro made with a ruffled collar and 3/4 sleeves. I have found a couple people on etsy that can make it in dupioni silk, taffeta, or raw silk.
I have no experience with these fabrics and dont know what will look best. I need suggestions and advice please. I have to make a decision very soon and get it order.

I think stick with taffeta.

Have you asked the Etsy sellers what they would recommend?

Yes, I have asked one that I have spoken with and she said raw silk sound match fine. I am still a little worried and wanted some additional opinions from others. I’m a worry wart ha.

@FutureMrsStone: understandable! I went thru quite a few boleros until I decided on one to go with my taffeta dress. I ended up with lace so my story doesn’t help you.

i would definitely go with the taffeta bolero. i think the raw silk or dupioni would look a bit mismatched. the texture & sheen of the fabric would be just too different.
a tulle or chiffon fabric might also work – something like this (without the Swiss dots). at least then you wouldn’t have to worry so much about matching the fabrics together.
