dancindavinci:  Hmm I’m usually an edible favor person, but photobooth favors are lots of fun, plus I don’t really like popsicles that much.  Honestly, I think both favors would be great and I’d happily enjoy either one as a guest.

How many people are you having? If you’re having a lot of people, the popsicles might be better since there could be a big line for the photo booth. If it’s a relatively small wedding, I vote for the photobooth!

dancindavinci:  I guess I’d rather have a popsicle. I am not thrilled or excited by the idea of having “unlimited” photo booth photos. After a few shots and poses, I’m all set and ready to move on.

I think your guests would like the photobooth better. 125 isn’t a ton of people, so I don’t think it would get too crowded.

I think photobooths are cute, but as a guest, I wouldn’t understand that the photos are considered the guest favor.  Normally I assume photo booths are for the bride and groom to have some fun pics to share from their wedding day.

dancindavinci:  Thank you for clarifying for me. I think I would still like a popsicle. Similar to what Happy2bMrs said, it would not cross my mind that the photobooth was a treat or wedding favor. I just wouldn’t make that connection but probably because I prefer edibles and see an edible treat as a favor vice a photo.

I think which ever way you go, your guests will be delighted.

dancindavinci:  Sorry, I’m UK based… is a King of Pops popsicle basically an ice lolly (frozen juice on a stick)? Are you having a vendor to give them out or do the waiters deliver them? I’ve seen a few posts mention them as favours and don’t quite know how it works etc 🙂

I wouldn’t want a popsicle because I would be afraid of it dripping on my dress.  I’m a pretty messy eater.

I don’t get the photobooth trend.  My friends and I would go into them when we went to the mall in junior high, but I’ve personally never gone in one in any wedding I’ve attended.  I wouldn’t think of the prints as favors.

I think you can do without favors.  I never take them anyway.

Do you think everyone is going to stay the entire time?  I’ve heard stories about late night snacks and such going unused b/c guests are leaving.  With a popsicle, you kind of have to eat it right then and there.  Are you having cake?  Some guests might not partake in two desserts that close together.

I like the photobooth because your guests have something to take home.  I do think of them as a favor, even before I started planning my wedding.  It kind of does double duty, bc you have all of the photos for yourself too.

What is the weather like? Will it be warm enough for Popsicles at 10 or 11 at night?

Also – i see edible favours as something you can take with you and eat later. I would see popsicles as extra food and not necessarily a favour.

LilRhodyGem:  I agree.  I prefer edibles (or drinkables! – we gave a bottle of wine to all guests), but I’m confused about the popcicle idea because unless I have a freezer nearby, it means I have to eat it right away.  As a guest, that would make me think that the treat was part of the late night food.  I also would not associate it with a guest favor, because to me, a favor is something you can take away with you and use/eat when you want.  Whereas the popcicle needs to be consumed right away.

OP, I’m sure there is some significance to the popcicle that I probably just don’t understand.  Also, there is no pleasing everyone.  While I prefer edibles and gave a bottle of wine to our guests, I’m sure there were some people who didn’t like that idea because they either didn’t like that type of wine or don’t drink wine, or whatever.  Just do what you think is best!
