i like the bottle opener idea. its neat and actually useful, AND they would always remember it came from your wedding!
I vote chocolate as well...But I just think edible goes over better anyways. I have a bottle opener and don't really want 3948048034032. It's kind of hit or miss.
I say go for edible. The truth is I have never received a favor from a wedding that I actually wanted or used. I like edible ones cause i feel obligated to keep it...i just eat it and it is gone!
I say edible, too. We were going to do the bottle opener favor idea until I remembered ALL of the non-edible wedding favors we have/had laying around the house from other weddings. Unfortunately, they became clutter.
We had our wedding in Brooklyn, NY and gave mini black and white cookies (nyc staple) as favors. They were a hit; so much so our guests were fighting over who got the "left overs" left on the table.
Your guests will remember your wedding no matter what....especially for adorable chocolate crabs!
I say bottle opener :) This is so cute! Edible favors are nice, but I think a crab bottle opening is useful :)
My friend at work is also have crab favors! She is giving away crab eating utensils (not sure if they have a real name, crackers maybe) as the favor for their wedding. They are serving crab for their food so it is super fitting.
I'd go with chocolate. Everyone loves edible favors, and while the bottle openers are a cute idea, most people who drink wine already have a botlte opener.
Edible almost always wins. Hands down. The bottle opener idea is great too & I'd use it, but I think sweets & treats are always a crowd pleaser
I probably wouldn't hold onto the bottle opener for long. I'd say go with the chocolate!
Chocolate! I wouldn't do anything with a bottle opener since I have so many of them from my serving days.
@rkbecker: yum!! Its so cute! I <3 crabs (Im from Maryland) and for our wedding we gave out bags of crab chips in our OOT bags! I think people will love your crab chocolate!
@PitBulLover: Thanks! We're going to get crab chips for our OOT bags too! Where did you get yours? We were probably going to go up to the Utz factory . . .
Where did you find the chocolate crab mold? My fiancee and I are planning on doing the same thing as favors for our wedding. We have been looking for the crab chocolate mold for awhile now and haven't found the right Maryland-looking crab. Yours looks perfect.
We are also getting married on the Eastern Shore.
Thanks!!
@jnicely1: PM me so I remember to respond, and in the meantime I'll check with my mom because she picked them up for me. Where on the shore are you getting married?

Our wedding is going to be on the Easter Shore of Maryland and I've been trying to think of an inexpensive favor that would still capture the "flavor" of the shore. After playing around online, I think we could do crab favors, so now I need to figure out what kind of crab favors.
I think if we do chocolate ones we could probably buy a mold and make them ourselves, but for a bottle opener or wine stopper we'd probably have to buy them - unless someone can help me figure out how to make those!
Which would you rather have as a guest? Also, this is an adults-only affair, so I'm not worried about giving out alcohol-related favors to minors!
