Ok, I am getting married in 9 weeks and am trying to finalise our menu. We are really struggling with soup. We have quite a few vegetarians so ideally wanted a vegetarian soup for simplicity. My mum is allergic to tomato so we can’t have that, I am coeliac so cant have noodles/croutons, and my fiance is dairy intolerant so it also cant contain milk cheese or cream. phew! you might begin to see why this is so hard…! Anyway, the hotel have emailed a few suggestions and I have added a few of my own. Please help us decide which you think would be the most popular choice.
for reference, the rest of the menu is a lamb shank potatoes and veg, followed by lemon tart.

@rambini: I am not familiar with some of the components of the other options, but I would probably choose the pea soup. However, as someone who does not eat ham I would be concerned about getting served soup with ham- by mistake 🙁
ETA: I did not vote.

I think the butternut squash and roasted red pepper sounds amazing.

@rambini: Just check to see if the butternut squash/roasted peppers has cream. Most “thickened” soups do. But that’s my choice. Sounds yum!

I love any kind of mushroom soup so I would vote for that.

Could you offer two choices to pick from? Maybe an option for those not vegan or allergic to tomato, etc… If I was a guest I would have to skip the soup because none of those flavors sound appealing to me.

Butternut squash soup is amazing with some roasted apples in it or on top of it. We went to the wedding of two high-end chefs (note – ALWAYS RSVP yes to one of those) and they had little shooters of soup with apples in it. I still dream about that.

All the soups sound delicious but I picked the mushroom soup because I love mushrooms! The butternut soup sounds really good as well.
