FMIL has generously offered to buy us our favorite or most expensive gift from our registry for our shower in two weeks. We’re having a hard time deciding what we want/need most! So here’s our four options right now:
1) Keurig – I don’t drink coffee or tea, but FI does and they have hot chocolate for winter
2) Dyson vaccum – most expensive, but right now we only have two rooms with carpet, under 300 sq ft, would likely use it more when we move in ~3 years
3) Ottoman – this cool ottoman we like to replace our college coffee table that holds our countless blankets and flips out to a table
4) Nice bedding set – We just bought a nice brand new bedroom furniture set and bed but we’re still using our college bedding and it’s falling apart
Or any other awesome thing we should get instead?? Pros and cons for those items? I’d add a poll but idk how anymore! Thanks!

I couldn’t chose either from that list. I want everything that you mentioned as well. Here are some pro/cons of each item and what I would rank them in your circumstances.
Dysons last forever from what I hear, so even if you don’t use it now, you could be using it 20 years in the future. That said, you will have to move it and store it. I think that hassle would make it not worth it to me right now. 4
My cousin got a Keurig for their wedding and told me “It is the best gift they got from their wedding.” I would take that with a grain of salt for your case as you don’t drink coffee like they do, but even having something that can make a cup of hot water quickly is useful. 3
I have an ottoman that you can store blankets in and I love it. When I use it, it helps keep the living room organized. I don’t use it 100% of the time, but its still cool. 2
New bedding set would probably be my #1 in your situation. I think that it is the most useful to you right now, espeically if the other set is not as nice.

MrsN14: Keurig! I don’t drink alot of coffee, but they have iced teas, apple cider, hot coco etc. We use ours SO much and its wonderful!

My gut says Dyson, as they are expensive and you may not buy one for yourself, even in 3 years when you move. It’s also a single item, so you’re less likely to have someone else buy it off your registry becuase of the cost. If you really want a Dyson (and I’m assuming you do, since you registered for it now) this might be your best chance to get it.
New bedding you’d get good use of now. However, the bedding can be broken down in to several affordable items that others could buy of your registry (sheets, duvet, pillows …) so a lot of that might get bought for your shower anyway.
As this is an offer to buy something big – I’d go Dyson. I have one and they really are the best vaccums ever.

Dyson probably, but the bedding set might be more useful to you right now.

the dyson for sure. it’s by far the best thing we’ve ever purchased (with our wedding money, btw). even though you have a small place now, you still have to vacuum it. it’s a big expense later on so if someone is offering to buy it for you, take it.
the other items are ones that you would buy for yourself or you would probably get as a gift from other guests.

Definitely Dyson!! We have 2, a digital slim cordless and a rollerball upright. I love them.

MrsN14: The bedding or the vacuum. Honestly, I’d say vacuum. THEY’RE AMAZING. And you WILL use it more in about three years when you move, as you said. And when you move (with all the expenses associated with that) you will thank your lucky stars that you already have a fantastic vacuum.

i’d say the dyson. that’s something that you might never buy yourself due to cost, i think. it’s a big ticket item that you’ll never regret having. i don’t drink coffee and we NEVER use our keurig. ever, even though my husband is a huge coffee drinker. you can always purchase sheets/bedding for yourself and as PP mentioned, those are items people often like to buy for showers so you are likely to get them anyway!

I vote dyson! But anything you registered for was something you want, so you should be happy either way!
I think someone else will definitely gift you the Keurig and the bedding set (those are popular picks from a registry), and the dyson is expensive and will last for years – so no need to sweat that you don’t have much space at the moment – you’ll still use it now.
