I’m having a very hard time figuring out what to do with my hair for my wedding. I love the “side bun” look, but feel that because my dress is so simple (photo below), that my hair needs to be more “wow” and have a little more presence. I tried two different side pony looks, but kind of feel that look is “over done”? I have fine hair, so I wore a couple of extension pieces, but this is also the reason I prefer not to have it all down (plus the fact that it’s an October wedding and my hair tangles a lot – I worry about it looking like a rat’s nest if it’s windy outside.)
So..what do you think look best?
Note: I plan to wear my veil down, as shown in one of the photos, along with pearl drop earrings and a simple pearl pendant. I will also wear a hair flower (different one than pictured).
Photo of the dress:
Style #1: Side Bun
Style #2: Side Pony (simple, full)
Style #3: (will also wear with veil) Side pony, curled

I’m voting for side bun because I like a more polished look, but could see #2 as a close second.

I like option 2 best, but the bun would be my second choice.

I like the side bun as well! You can’t go wrong with either option but because the dress is very polished and has clean lines…then I’d go for the 1st option.

LOVE the side bun!! I did a similar style as the Maid/Matron of Honor in my sisters wedding and got tons of compliments all night. My second choice would be #2

I like the side-bun!
And your dress isn’t all THAT simple–plus, simple is chic and elegant!

Thanks for the votes! Keep them coming. I’m really surprised – I thought #3 would win, hands-down. Can you guys let me know why you think the other styles work better? Or if you have any other suggestions? Thanks!

I’m not sure why I like the bun the best..
From what I can see, it does seem like you have a more oval face shape..which for some reason I think I like with the side bun? I know I’ve always heard longer hair helps to elongate rounder faces, which you don’t need..Idk if that makes sense or has anything to do with it lol. It could also have something to do with the how your dress is traditional and girly, yet with the horizontal seams it’s modern too..and I think the side bun gives the same feel?
Who knows. I just like it! Haha 🙂
