This is my ring that will be custom made (the one in the middle, with only white diamonds):
Future FI will be putting down his deposit soon, which means I need to make final decisions about my ring before they start making it!! I love princess cut, but I’ve been thinking the halo around it looks too “boxy” at the corners. I’ve been wondering if I should ask for something “softer” at the corners, but NOT a cushion cut (no hate, just not my preference).
A halo more like this:
Yikes-sorry that’s so big!! But what do you all think? I’ve added a poll for funsies!! 🙂
Please-NO halo hate, I love them!!!!

I like the second option better. It will make it look more soft and not as harsh edged

I agree with the softer corner. The true square halos just seem to sharp in my opinion and seem like it would snag a lot.

mrsaime : I have a ring similar to the first pic but would have preferred the softer corners.

I have a princess cut stone with a cushion halo. I definitely would go with the more rounded corners

I like the boxy halo ( and I’m not a halo fan at all). It is more unique than all those cookie cutter halo’s we’ve seen for years

All halos are beautiful, i dont think you can go wrong with either

I honestly love the Boxy halo because I dont see it very much on the boards & have NEVER seen one in real life. I always see oval or rounder squared halos. It looks really bold to me. 🙂

mrsaime : tbh, they both look boxy.

I have a princess cut stone in a square halo with rounded corners, so that’s what I voted for 🙂 Here’s mine:

I always picture the sharp corners being stabby… so I voted for soft corners.

ellyd23 : Beautiful! Love that stack, too!
desertgypsy : lol…stabby is bad!!

Another vote for rounded corners 🙂 Here is my set and haven’t had issues with the engagement ring snagging on things.
